My 13 year old daughter has juvenile arthritis and experiences many 'flare ups' which can not be predicted, she can be fine one day and bad the next. I am wondering if there are seated waiting areas at the rides so if she is in slight discomfort it is not exacerbated by waiting in a long line. There are 4 of us and my husband could wait with her while my other daughter and myself wait in the queue and when we get to the entrance they could join us. I understand that Disney offers wheelchairs for such cases and that many of the rides have room for wheelchairs in the queues but we would hate to take a chair and there not be enough left for people in much greater need than us and being 13 my daughter is very self conscious and is not keen on the idea of a chair unless absolutely necessary. Any words of wisdom would be much appreciated :)

Good Morning Trish,

I can not remember there being any seating areas in line to beable to sit down.
Disney does offer w/chairs and the electrical ones, however i can see the issue that your daughter may not want to use these, however the w/chair facility for the rides is good, as you will normally have minimal wait as you tend to use the exit of the rides, this is available for all guest in your party and meaning that you would not need to Q for a long period of time.
Hope this helps and have a good trip

You'll want to check out the special assistance pass for your DD, as well.

While a wheel chair may make her feel self conscious initially, she probably will enjoy herself much more if she uses one as needed. You'll find a number of people using both conventional wheel chairs and ECVs. The parks are huge and the WDW climate could affect her arthritis. Some of my joints definitely did not appreciate the Orlando humidity!
