We drove over for the launch of Columbia in January 2003. I really wasn't bothered about going.......went along for DH as he wanted to see the launch.
:wow: it was awesome. I can't describe the feeling you get ... something seems to blow over you.....sorry, not good with words :blush: :)
I would love to go back and see another launch some time. :thumbs:

I saw one once, from Route 50 as I was driving to work (headed east) it was so majestic! Nearly everyone came to a dead stop and watched.

It's well worth the trip, unless of course it gets canceled. :(

This pic is from the quality inn plaza on international drive. The shuttle went up and all i can say is it was awsome. We had TV coverage on and stood outside at the same time there were cheers and screams going on everyone was outside it was a brilliant time that none of us will forget

Thanks for that link MM, we were visiting Kennedy Space Centre in 2002 when the shuttle Endeavour was launched, we watched it from the Astronauts Memorial, it was awsome, the vibration and noise in the air was unbelievable.

we also saw while at space centre a shuttle piggy back on a plane going off for a refit we saw it take off it was awsome. wish hubby was home as i have a terrible memory cause he would say which shuttle it was

I would dearly love to see a shuttle launch up close and personal.
