Good Morning Everyone!
It's a gourgeous day here in Nassau. The ship just docked about half an hour ago and I am here at Cove Cafe doing some internet surfing. Mrs. SM should be getting ready for our day at Atlantis.
I'm very excited since I've never been :hyper: . This time we decided to go ahead and visit their aquarium. We are not shoppers and do not gamble, so we've always stayed on the ship, keeping it company while everyone else goes out and deals with the hair braiders and pushy souvenir salespeople.
We are meeting just before 11:00 at Wavebands and from there we'll be on our way to Atlantis.
I'm a bit tired from staying up late last night. I went to bed around 3:30am  , in between 2:00am and 3:00am is the best time to take pictures of the ship  . I took around 200 of Deck 3, Triton's lobby area, Route 66, Studio Sea, and the foyer of the Walt Disney Theatre. I will be adding many of those to my website.
Well, it's around 9:45am and I have to meet Mrs. SM for breakfast at Parrot Cay. I'll try to have another update later tonight. Take care everyone! :wiggle:

Hey there...
Thanks everyone, I'll have lots of photos when I come back. We're back from Atlantis and I took about 250  , would post some but the computer is locked in the desk and cannot access the USB ports :sigh: .
You must be thinking, what is SM doing visiting the boards and not enjoying the ship? . Well we are, it's very warm outside and I cannot handle the sun, so we are just taking a break in the adult area. Mrs. SM is reading a book and I'm here checking some e-mail.
The show tonight is a magic and juggling act at the Walt Disney Theater at 6:30am and dinner at Parrot Cay at 8:30pm. "The Pacifier" will be playing at the Buena Vista Theater at 11:00pm. We'll try to catch it if we can keep our eyes opened  .
Food, you want to know about food? What aren't we eating :eatdrink: . We had breakfast at Parrot Cay this morning. Scrambled eggs, sauted mushrooms, smoked salmon, smoked trout, tomato wedges, milk and orange juice... I felt like I was going to explode. We just had some fruit when we came back to try to build up an appetite for tonight  .
Gotta answer some e-mail and relax for a while  . Tomorrow we'll be going to Castaway Cay :hyper: . That's always exciting. Take care everyone :wiggle: . SM.

Great, there we go, we've lost Johnie...
Hey, Sorcerer's going to be so busy at Castaway Cay today... let's imagine his morning!! You can learn more about it here. (http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/disneycruiseline/funonshore/portindex?id=CastawayCayPort)
OK, it's 7:45AM, he and his lovely wife are grabbing a quick bit to eat in Parrot Cay (quick bite is a misnomer in this place.) Guests get to go ashore at 8:30, and Sorcerer wants to get a great spot in a quiet section, where he and Mrs. Sorcerer can stretch out and relax, with maybe a hammock nearby. Next, they try...

Take care now and keep on enjoying that cruise! :excited:

Hey Everyone! SM here with today's update  .
Well, the update starts with not so good events last night...
Around 2:00am, while taking pictures around the ship, I noticed that the speed of the ship had diminished almost to a crawl. I thought that maybe this was normal since Castaway Cay is only 60 nautical miles from Nassau. So I didn't pay much attention and continued my picture taking at the Promenade Lounge.
At 3:15am I decide it's late enough and head to our stateroom. I was all the way forward and our stateroom, 5644, is all the way aft. I thought I would go to deck 10 and walk towards aft. When I'm outside I notice lights and realize we are entering a port. It was obvious we had returned to Nassau. I went to deck 9 close to where there is an exterior maneuvering station for when docking on deck 8. I was standing about 15 feet away from the Captain.
Now, normally ships enter the port of Nassau very slowly and turn 180 degrees before docking. This time it entered forward and at very high speed. I would say it was docked in about a 1/3 the time it normally takes it. There was an ambulance waiting at the dock. A gentleman and his family were rushed out of the ship and into the ambulance. From what I could see 8 decks up, he was not wearing a shirt, had electrodes attached to his chest and medical equipment laying on his side. I would say he probably had heart problems. Not 10 minutes after, the ship had pulled out of the dock, turned around in about half the time it normally takes to turn 180 degrees and we are out of the port. Once on open water, you could feel the speed increase.
Before I continue, I would appreciate if everyone took a second to think about the gentleman and his family. I'm sure it must be scary, stressful, ... Just keep the family in your thoughts...
...
...
I went to bed around 5:30am. I wake up at 8:30am to find out we have arrived at Castaway Cay. It was actually a pretty bad day weather wise. Found out when I went to breakfast at Beach Blanket Buffet that the Captain almost decided not to dock because of high winds. He tried twice before and was able to dock on the third try.
Mrs. SM had woken up early and gone onto the island to do yoga, but the wind was so strong that she was being hit with sand. Suffice to say that yoga did not help her relax.
But we've actually had a very good time today. We watched "The Pacifier", we've spent time at Cove Cafe, Diversions, tonight is the "Pirates in the Caribbean Party", dinner will have a pirate's theme, it should be fun  .
See you guys later...

Sorceror Mickey I love your live trip reports . You brought back so many wonderful, magical memories that I have had aboard the Disney Wonder ! Thank You so very much for shaing ! DH and I are definitely going to do the DC next year. DH has mentioned it , but after reading your mementos, I'm yearning for the experience, again . :D
I took a moment of silence and prayed for that dear family . That must be so scary to be that far away from home and have something like that happen . Strange hospital, doctors, etc . :afraid: Do you think it's possible that they airlifted him to the US ? Just curious to what they do in case of an emergency , like this ! I hope that all is well for that family, that it wasn't to serious, and that he is up and around already .
Enjoy the rest of your trip, SM ! I can't wait to hear more and see the pics . Now about this Pirates of the Carribean Party dinner , is it something new ? Are you on the 4 day Bahamas cruise ? I didn't see a magic show either when we were on last year . It was all plays Hercules , Disney Dreams and The Golden Mickeys . Have you seen that one yet ? It's a Great Show , one not too be missed ! Have Fun, Mate ! :D

I want to go on a Disney cruise. It sounds like so much fun.

Now about this Pirates of the Carribean Party dinner , is it something new ?
Yes it is, I think it just started maybe just two months ago. All restaurants participate and have the same dinner choices. The menu looks like a treasure map rolled up. They also give you a red bandana with that says "Pirates in the Caribbean Party". You get to keep them.
Afterwards, at 11:00pm, they have a "Pirates" themed party and buffet on deck 9, with fireworks and entertainment crew members dressed as pirates and "lady pirates" :D . It's lots of fun.
Tomorrow will be the "wake up late and spend hours in the Rainforest Room" day.
Gotta go take more photos, good night  .

I hope that man recovers, best wishes to his family.
So, will you not be dressing as Captain Jack Sparrow? I could come out and pierce your ear for you! :D It'll go with your toe nail polish.
Enjoying the live reports, SM.

SM Welcome Back!!!!!!!!
When you mentioned being tired is it from the late nights or is it the cruise alone. (or are your fingers just tired from snapping pictures:lol: )
Seriously, I am a bit worried because we are doing the land/sea(4 land, 3 cruise) and after the sea part we return back to disney world for three more days. Do you think we will be too tired for parks after the cruise? We will have one days break and just DTD.Then two park days to do MK and Epcot after the cruise. Since we have kids lights will be out by 10 pm every night on our cruise. It has to be otherwise meltdowns may occur. Hope we didn't make a mistake booking extra days after the cruise.
Can't wait to see your pictures!

Bambi, quite the opposite will occur!
The cruises are so relaxing, in fact many people take the cruise after doing the parks in order to unwind.
Your batteries will be fully charged and raring to go when your cruise is over!

That is usually the case, the DCL is a great time to relax, be pampered and get lots of rest.
In my case, I just cannot go to bed while on the ship, but that is just me. Usually I end up going to bed around 2:00am or 3:00am while on the ship. That is just a great time to take pictures without people in the way. This was the first time I had witnessed an emergency like there was the second night and I ended up going to bed at 5:30am.
But again, that is just me. Everybody else is smart and relaxes while on the DCL, I'm the shutterbug that has to take pictures of everything  .
