I was just wondering what it is like to swim with the sharks? Are they really swimming openly or is there glass in between you and the sharks? My daughter would like to try this but she's a little worried she is 9 years old.:afraid:

They are bitty things, not really that large. The area you swim in is not large at all, and they only allow you go go straight across and not stop. My daughter freaked out, and we didn't do it at the last minute, so hopefully someone else will be along shortly to help. :D

Your in the water for all of 2 minutes (and man is it cold!). The "sharks" are smaller than some fish I've seen and they didn't come anywhere near us

I did it with my then 5 year old and he was fine. They scare you a little when you are getting ready to get in by making a big deal telling you not to stop and to swim with your arms only (no kicking). You also must stay on the surface. The sharks are really tiny and stay at the bottom. As JM said -the water is REALLY COLD. It is worth doing once though.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping someone would have said yes there is glass between you and the sharks. I guess my daughter will have to decide if she can do it or not when she gets there. Glad to hear though that the sharks are very small.

If it helps at all, my DD said that they are 'babies.' Now she wants to do it. Of course, when we get there, she would change her mind. (she is 8)

It's cold, the saltwater, and the sharks aren't too big, and I think I seen other fish in there when i was in it. I also swallowed a bunch of saltwater cause i don't know how to breathe through my mouth that well, lol.

We all loved shark reef, :scuba: the fish are really colorful, but the itty bitty sharks tend to swim :swim: on the bottom. The difficult bit is getting used to snorkeling. Shark Reef is interesting and enjoyable even if you only do it the once - but if you are like us you will get hooked :fishin2: and want to experience it a few times

When you all describe the sharks as small etc......how small is small. 6 inches, a foot?

I'd say a foot-foot and a half
