Our family is going to WDW this december and I have read a few trip reports about the segway tours and they sound like FUN! I thought I would book it for my dh and our 17 year old son. How long does the tour last, what is the price, and how do I go about booking it? thanks!!

I haven't done the tour yet but am also hoping to on our next trip. It costs around 80 dollars (you can get an AP discount or DVC discount). It is about 2 hours long. One hour of instruction and one hour touring world showcase. You can book it by calling 407-wdw-tour

I was also thinking about doing te Segway tour, but I doubt we will b/c we are all pretty poor right now (senior year is expensive!). They sound like fun though I hope you get to do it.

You have to be 16 or older (under 18 needs a parent's signature) and under 250 lbs. As Grandma said, we had a BLAST on our tour (I'm planning on doing one in Washington DC).

One quick note about the Segway tour: You are on your feet for two hours with only a short break. Although JM and I had no problem with this, first time Segway riders may find it a bit tough on the legs.

Here are a couple more reviews for you:
April 2004 Segway review (http://www.wdisneyw.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24373)
November 2004 with DH and DS Segway trip report (http://www.wdisneyw.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31482)
I went on the Segway tour 3 times last year and I had a blast each time. I enjoyed it the most when DH and DS also took the tour. They really liked it, too.

Thanks everyone for your info, the trip reports sounds like this would be something dh and ds would love! I want to surprise them with this the only down side is getting up early  Will the buses run this early or should they drive over to Epcot and park? Do you think I should choose an early entry day or a day the park open at regular time? Thanks again for your responses!!!

psdjmem,
The last time I took the tour, they offered two of them. One at 8:30am and one at 9:30am. I would take the later of the two, if they still offer it-so you can sleep in a little bit later ;)

Thanks JM.......have to go off and read trip reports with this tour in now and decide if we are interested
Want to find out....how many people per group?
do you visit each country?
is it a guided tour where you follow your guide and listen to them talking the whole time or do you get involved in anything!
Off to research..

We went through most of the countries but it's not a world showcase tour per-se. read Grandma's TR on our tour here (http://wdisneyw.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35459)
Remember if you have an AP there is a discount on the tour

I`d read wdwgrandma`s very detailed trip report from her 2004 trip. It certainly whetted my appetite to give it a go!

Well, I have read the report......... :D sounds good to me.
How far in advance can you book?

I *think* it's 90 days. I booked in October for early December without a problem but if you're going during a busy time I'd book right at the 90 day mark

You know Vikki, that thought never crossed my mind. By the time you leave the training room you feel pretty confident on the Segway.
