Has anyone ever stayed here? It's one of the resorts on offer in a travel brochure I've been looking at. I know it's in Kissimee, which I hadn't considered as a possible place to stay, but it looks lovely. I've read good reports on Trip Advisor, but I'm mainly interested to know

1. How far is it from the International Drive area.
2. Is there a shuttle service to the various attractions.

Any response would be greatly appreciated.

Liki Tiki, is that the place that used to be the Bali Hi or something like that? What's the street address?

17777 Bali Blvd, Winter Garden, FL 34787

You're right about the name Tink - it used to have a different name - and Bali was in the title. If I can find the correct name, I'll post it.

Winter Garden? OK, I think I've got your resort. The addresses in that particular area are too weird for words.

It is not in Kissimmee no matter what the site or brochure is telling you. Its on the westernmost end of 192 near where it intersects 27. It's a tiny little side road just west of Avalon (545) Rd.

The resort looks nice for what that is worth and the location is a bit off the beaten path, in that you can take the Black Lake bypass to WDW property and avoid all sorts of traffic.

There is nothing to walk to from that resort, if that is a factor for you. You would most definitely have to drive everywhere.

It's supposed to have a nice water park. I haven't been there though.

It is not near International Drive.

No, no. No where near it. Near Orange Lake if that helps?

Can't see a water park from the road. That doesn't mean a thing though!

We stayed at one of it's "sister" resorts in December 04 (Orbit One). We had use of Liki's water park - - - but when we went use it, the security guard at the gate informed us it was down for rehab for the entire week.

The brochures at our resort made the water park look awesome, but we weren't able to see it first hand. Since our DD was all set on a water park, we ended up shelling out the cash for Typhoon Lagoon instead.

It wasn't a bad drive, but it is way down on 192.

Where do you want to be, Goofy Girl? Near WDW, or on WDW property? In a WDW owned resort, or in a resort owned by other corporations on WDW property?

The location of this resort really isn't bad. It's on the quieter end of things and that can be a real positive at the end of a long day. IF that is what you like. However, if you like to be able to walk to places, or do something in the evening without having to drive yourselves, this won't be the best spot for you.

Again, it is western most 192, within a rock's throw of 27 (which runs north and south).

Well Tink, last time we stayed in LBV (HI Sunspree), which was great, but the idea of being in the heart of the 'buzz' of I-Drive appeals to me too - the kids are big enough to walk around with us at night, the trolley is a great way of getting around the shops on I-Drive, and most of the hotels offer shuttles to the various attractions. This would save the cost of hiring a car - and leave more money to spend on ourselves! At Liki Tiki we would definately have to hire a car, so I think I'll rule it out.

I forgot to say that, as well as not being able to afford to stay on-property - the rooms don't seem to offer a lot. We had a kitchenette last time we stayed, and it was great!
