Route 498 Pin event

My brother loves to collect trading pins and I saw that there is a pin event in Animal Kingdom when we are in town on vacation. Has anyone ever been to a pin event before at WDW? I wondered what it entitles?

As much as I love pins, I have not participated in a pin trading event ( yet :D ). But, I did run across some information on this event from the Disney Gallery Web site:
