My network card for my laptop died on Thursday so we made the decision to go wireles - this is sooooo cool I can use the computer anywhere in the house.:wiggle:
Such fun - I probably shouldn't tell you where I am as I type this - you might get the wrong idea (I'm lying in bed LOL)
(And did I mention it's less than 6 weeks till I go to America :rotfl:......)

Woo hoo, welcome to the wireless club. It really is great to be able to sit anywhere around your house and surf the net. No more bathroom breaks from the internet know:rotfl:

I think I might draw the line at the bathroom - it was weird enough in the bedroom http://www.wdisneyw.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

My Mum is hooked up to a neighbour's wireless LAN and they share the connection cost, very sensible if you ask me, for the techie one in the family, I am only just catching up! http://www.wdisneyw.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

I was just going to say be careful of "War Driving", people who drive around looking for open wireless connections to get onto the internet. But I guess you got that covered since you are sharing a connection with a neighbor  .

Actually people are driving around looking for either open networks or even WEP encrypted networks now (which are VERY easy to break into).
My advice to everyone is to swap to WPA encryption if you possibly can... harder to break.

wireless networking is cool isn't it. the only thing is mine isn't connected to a laptop just my sisters computer up in her bedroom. mum didn't want network cables dragging all over the house as we have just decorated! :)

I've been wireless from the early days, when wireless G was only a rumor. I love it myself. I keep promising myself to upgrade from 802.11b to g, one of these days. I have to go on to my wired LAN to transfer large files around the house.
By the way whats wrong with using your laptop in the bathroom?
Brings on a whole new meaning to the phrase, Surf N' Turf. :D
