Ok, so we don't set sail, so to speak, until Sept... But yesterday John and I went out to run some errands - which included dropping off our medical forms at the doctor's office, and renewing our passports!!!! I even picked up Birnbaum's Disney Cruise guide book!!!!! It's starting to become so "real"!!!

I remember when you booked the cruise it seemed ages ago. Now time is going to just fly right by and before you know it you will be packing. I am happy for you and John, I hope you both have a wonderful time in Sept.
I have been out trying to get me some clothes for my cruise. Sandals, swimsuit etc. Have you started getting your necessities yet? That is going to even make it feel more real for you. While all the spring summer stuff is coming out its a good time to grab it before its all gone. Around July/Aug it will be impossible to get certain items since fall items are put out on the shelves.

You and John are going to have so much fun, Donna! Can't wait for the trip report! :)
And the pre-trip reports! Those can be as much fun, as the excitement is contagious! Did you decide on your swimsuit style yet?

LOL Swimsuit style? How about a tent? If I don't lose some weight, that's about all that will fit me! LOL
I haven't even started thinking about the necessities yet. I have my Tevas - those will definately go with me! As far as buying any clothes right now, I hate to.... First off, I hate to shop. Secondly, I hate to shop.

Are you fishing for compliments? Cause you are one of the youngest/ best looking grandma's out there. Seriously, you look great Donna. You don't even look like a grandma. You will look just fine in a swimsuit, don't worry about it. They now have swimsuits that have skirts attached to them. I just got a tankini and the bottom looks like shorts. Sort of covers alot that shouldn't be seen:afraid:

You definitely don't need a tent, Donna!
But I agree with you about shopping! It doesn't make my top 100 activities list!

Honestly, I hate shopping, and have to literally be dragged into a mall! And since John managed to get me into a grocery store twice this weekend, I don't have to go in one for the rest of the year!

You're bringing a tent on our cruise?
I agree with everyone here, you look MAHVALOUS!!!! We're gonna dress fine and have a great time!
Have you read the whole Birnbaum book yet? I have, and I'm reading it again...and again...and again..that's my way to countdown the days till cruise time.
I'M SO EXCITED!!!!! Yes, I just can't hide it!

Gee, no kidding? Ya think???? LOL
I actually did a bit of clothes shopping yesterday. I HATE clothes shopping. I finally broke down and bought a pair of those capri pants. They are a real soft demin, and the shirt that goes with is also a soft demin with a "travel" pattern on it - it has what looks like travel stickers on it in soft, washed a million times, colors! Now if I can only work up the nerve to wear the outfit!

I know... I'm not quite sure yet what to buy, tho... Just how "posh", I mean. All the fancy dresses I saw yesterday were prom dresses - too "froo froo". All I'd need is a tiara and a magic wand!!! LOL

It doesn't have to be a dress you know, what about one of those really fancy evening pant suits. I saw one the other day at the mall that was a beige color pant with a matching short sleeve shell with a light weight over jacket thingy that had tiny little seed pearls in a swirl pattern that was beyond elegant. I could so see you in something like that

I found a black pantsuit I've only worn once to a really nice dinner. It has a tank top and a crocheted vest with these little sparkly beads on it! Cool!! One dinner outfit down...5 more to go!
I've seen some super cute sundresses at Target (yes, I shop at Target for some clothes) and I'm waiting for them to go on sale!
Capri pants are right on for the cruise Miss Donna...you'll love them. I've already gotten a couple of pairs and tanks to go with them. Shorts and sundresses is what I prefer..more comfy.
And as for the bathing suit department...I don't like the colors I saw at Target..so I'm off to Kohl's to pick up one more suit...a girl can never have enough bathing suits.
SHOES!!! SHOES SHOES...How many suitcases can we bring with us? :lmao:

The denim outfit sounds cute, Donna! But I know what you mean about having the nerve to wear it. I'm uncomfortable dressing down more than business casual in public!
For a formal occasion, look for a washable long skirt or crepe slacks that you can combine with a solid knit tank (or similar top) and add a sparkley jacket or glitzy jewelry to dress it up. The slinky knit fabrics that you can roll up and stuff into your luggage are terrific!
I have four long skirts (three black, don'cha know?) that I can trot out for appropriate occasions and combine with various tops and jewelry, without having to invest in a dress I'm not likely to wear again. Or, as you mentioned, is a bit too prom or bridesmaid oriented.!

Those are some great ideas, Taja! I know I'll have to do some more shopping between now and Sept, so I'll keep my eyes open!

I agree Donna...Taj's ideas are good. Mix and match..that's always good.
