It's taken me an entire week just to edit 25 out of around 100 photos I plan to use to update my online photo album. I actually took 887 photos, but many are panoramics which are made of 6 to 8 photos. Hopefully I'll have some time this weekend to work on them.
In the mean time, here is a preview from the first group...

I use Photoshop to edit and "enhance" all the pictures I take. The border is called a "Stroke", 5px wide. I like the framing effect it has on the pics.
If you don't have Photoshop, there is an Open-Source program called GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/). It's a very powerful image editing program which does many of the same things Photoshop does.

Can you just imagine all the fun we could have on a cruise meet. It would give Jo the experience of dropping drinks on someone's head from the upper decks
You do realize that in 15 years I'll probably be too old to do anything but sit on the deck in my rocking chair  :sigh:

Cruising is cheaper than a nursing home!
Is there a discount for a large group?
Breeze
March 17th, 2005, 19:31
That would be so cool if we could do it. Maybe we could set a 2 or 3 year savings time frame and then just maybe we can all afford to it  :sigh: Can we go snorkling please :D

Followed link to your online album, very professional. Impressive I'm so jealous though, a cruise every 6 months!!?? Even with the right wages I'd not have enough holiday from work to do it! :( :sigh: You must be your own boss or have a good one... what's his name?

What kind of camera do you have, and what lenses were you using? Looks like you have a nice wide angle or fish eye lense. That's my next purchase :-)

 You'll be surprised when I tell you what I use.
I use the cheapest Sony Cyber-shot that Sony had until about a month ago. Sony doesn't even offer this model on their website anymore. It's the DSC-P41. I take all my photos at the highest resolution available, 4.1 Mega Pixels, 2304 x 1728. I can take 129 photos on a 256mb card.

I use a tripod and the timer feature to take several overlapping photos in sequence. The overlap is approximately 20 to 50 percent.

I then use a program called Panorama Factory (http://www.panoramafactory.com/) (click on the name to go to the website) to stitch the images together to create a panoramic photo.

And it's that simple  !

It helps to look at other people's photos and just practice. This is an incredible website, go to chicagouncommon.com (http://chicagouncommon.com/), Dawn has an incredible eye for details.
The cool thing about a digital camera, you can shot all the photos you want, different angles and positions, and just keep what you want. In my case Ijsut keep them all, good or bad. Who knows when you are going to need them in the future.
