During our Thanksgiving 2003 trip, my (then 8 year old) sister caught the Norwalk Virus on the boat. Disney put both my mom and my sister on quarentine (my mom was watching her), which means that they weren't allowed to leave the room for anything. Our waiters were even informed of this- I guess to make sure that they don't show up to meals. Disney provided them with a VCR and videos to keep her occupied, and also provided extra fluids and stuff for my sister, but it totally changed our trip around.
Has anybody had this experience also? For those of you future-cruisers, make sure that you wash your hands a lot on the boat. Realize that you're in close quarters with 3000 people that you don't know. Here's some information about the virus, for those who are curious:
