HI All,
I have a Canon A300 camera which just seems to chew through batteries like they're going out of fashion!! Took it to an Easter fete yesterday and I got 3 shots out of brand new batteries before it started saying "change the battery pack". Is it just a dud camera or is there a particular type of batteries I should be using?
I'm really worried now because I don't want to have to take a backpack full of batteries around with me just so I don't run out! http://www.wdisneyw.com/ubb/frown.gif http://www.wdisneyw.com/ubb/eek.gif

I'm not familiar with this exact model, but was the camera always like that or is this a recent thing? Did your batterys ever last longer? Are they re-chargeable battries that you are using? How many batterys fit into the camera, 2 or 4?
If your camera has always behaved like this then you might find that you have to use high current rated rechargeable batterys. Something like 1800 mha or above (I would get the highest current rated rechargeable AA batterys you can), this is the current rating of the battery and is a higher rating than regular batterys. Some of the cameras which only take two AA batterys can have this requirment (the ones that take 4 can also but not as often). If this is the case it might be mentioned in your instruction book, but not always.
If your camera used to work OK and has only developed this problem recently then I would suggest that it is faulty and needs looked at.
The obvious one is off course, if you are using rechargable batterys and had them for some time now, then try new ones.
Hope this helps.

Definately use rechargeables. High Power ones. Take a charger with you that has 110-240v on the plug or it won't work when you get there. Oh, and an adaptor for the plug.

Reading the reviews on amazon people say it has ok battery life so maybe its your one.
Try popping into the place you got it and explain they should be able to help you.

Do you have a screen to view your photos before and after you take them? If you have, can you switch this off as this takes a lot of the power
