Motorola V551 phone

Anyone have one of these or know anything about them?

I had to switch phones yesterday since my beloved Suncom has been bought out by Cingular. I did get to stay with my awesome Suncom contract for the next 2 years so I'm happy about that.

This phone is very cool. It takes pictures and video! The problem....I can receive calls but I can't make them now. It was fine last night. The message I get is "Call Failed: Network Busy". I've called them and they had to get someone in a more advanced dept to call me back. SO, now I have to take the SIM card out and put it in another phone to see if the problem is the phone or the SIM card.

The lady mentioned that they had problems with this phone arghhhhh

I haven't seen anything about that particular phone. I'm sorry that you are already having trouble with the big, fantastic merge.

:lol: this merge has been anything but fantastic.

They sent out the letters to all the customers at the same time. So there have been 3-4 hour waits at the stores. There are security people in the stores now. It's crazy. We went to Potomac Mills up in northern VA after the funeral yesterday. The Cingular store there did everything for my sister and I and it was a beautiful experience. No waiting and he was able to do everything (including adding another line for $10 and a free phone for the kid. She has to pay the bill with her allowance). I was very pleased with Antonio :)

But not being able to make calls out kind of defeats the purpose of having a cell phone :rolleyes:

I would definitely make sure you watch your bill very carefully. I feel that they're going to have problems in that area too .

I was watching a news program tonight and this lady had a normal 36 dollar bill and suddenly her bill was 400 dollars. It was crazy.

Well the bill thing is actually working in my favor at the moment. My bill is due April 8th. I haven't paid it yet. I went to Cingular's site and they say I have a $0 balance. Yeah I am watching my minutes thing. They have it listed as unlimited at the moment.

It's called the UNplan. It is a nice thing. I'm a bit chatty so not having to worry about minutes is very cool.

I stood in line this am for almost an hour and a half. I could have driven back up to Potomac Mills in that time :rolleyes: I have a new SIM card and I can call people!! Also, it seems that Suncom is alive and well in N & S Carolina. Virginia sold out.
