Has anyone shipped items ahead to your Disney resort? Was is successful? How did you do it? I'm thinking about doing this so I won't have to drag the kids through a grocery or carry items in our luggage.....

I did, but send it slow boat, or it will cost you a pretty penny!

Ship it to:

Your name
Reservation number
Dates of travel
Resort
Address
City, ST Zip

The address to ship to should appear on the back of your confirmation letter - let me know if you want me to send it to you.

Mac, did you send via UPS or US Postal Service? And how early should I send it?

I sent UPS brown (once I got smart) I want to say it was about $15, and we sent it about a week ahead of time.

UPS (www.ups.com)

If you go to the UPS website, you can enter in your zip code and the zip at the resort (or maybe the entire address, it's been awhile since I've done it) you can find out how many days it'll take to send it via "Ground" which is the cheapest.

www.wegoshop.com and www.netgrocer.com will deliver to your resort. You fill out the request online.

I shipped a good sized package to YC in August, 2003 via FedEx ground. Since I'm in the western US, I shipped it about two weeks before we arrived. Took them a while to find it, but they delivered it to our room. Not sure if that was standard at the time or because we were on the concierge floor.

I always thought it was normal to ship stuff to your destination! :D

We've never done it before. And since I buy quite a bit of stuff from Sam's, I have extras of the stuff we always use. And besides, it would keep us from having to pack things in our luggage so they won't get crushed....

I checked the UPS website and for a 25lb package, it would only be $15.36 for us to ship...
