My sister has vision problems among other things. Last year instead of cramming all 5 of us into one room we booked 2 and then requested that the rooms be very close together. When we arrived we found that our rooms were a 10 minute walk from each other. (Coronado springs) It took almost an hour and $20 to the porter to get rooms near each other. It's imperative that I am close to her to help her with her children. This year we are going to CS again and once again we requested that the rooms be near each other(travel agent booked it) I made a follow up call to Disney to reaffirm our needs. The agent was very unsympathetic and told me that they could in no way guarantee we would be close. Even if my sister weren't disabled I think it's only fair that people going together should be close to each other. I always thought Disney was especially sesitive to special needs. We ask for no other special treatment from Disney other than our rooms. Does any one have any thoughts on how to get the rooms close? I hate the thought of wasting a precious hour trying to get it sorted out when we arrive.

OK, you need to go through Disney's Special Assistance department.
We're dealing with a disability here.

They will help you with getting a room either adjoining or connecting.
I don't have the number to hand, but have a look in our Disabilities section on the main info page.

You can request, as WQ said adjoining (next to each other) or connecting (have a door so you can go between each easily). I've request both on different occasions and have have my requests granted
