Has anyone tried the parasailing at CR? I want to try it but I'm not sure if we should go off-site or try it at the CR? Any feedback would be appreciated.

My husband and daughter did it and really loved it, so much that they want to do it again. They also got some great shots. There are photographers on the boat who will take pictures of you, as well. Highly recommended.
When my DD got down, all she could say was "doitagain!doitagain!"

How old was your daughter at the time Mickeymac? My husband has been dying to do this for years. Now that my oldest is 11, will be 12 actually by Dec, I was thinking of letting the two do it together. Don't they strap them on together? I personally would be terrified!

I went parasailing at Ocean City Maryland when I was in middle school, it may not apply at WDW but if you were over, I believe 70 lbs. you could go by yourself. I am sure she could be strapped to your husband if she didnt meet WDW weight requirments, if they have them?

Hi BT, I'm wicked sorry that I missed your question. She had just turned 8 and was over the weight allotment, but wanted to go on with Dad. They were hung from the same line, not really strapped together. It looks much easier than I imagined it would be. I'm thinking of doing it myself, even though I have a bad ankle. They winch you in, and it's a fairly "soft" landing. They loved it, and my DD talks about going back on it all the time. They were the last of three groups to go off the boat, so enjoyed racing around on the seven seas lagoon for quite a bit before going off themselves. He took some great shots, too!

Does anyone know how far in advance you should make a reservation?

Ive a feeling its something like 30 days in advance before you can make a reservation. Its a good idea, especially if you want to do it on a specific day. However, if you were'nt too fussed you could always go past Sammy Duval's and book in person, sure they'd be able to fit you in somewhere :Para:

My daughter weighs around 85-88 pounds but I dont' think she'd go on her own. Problem is DH weighs around 225 so I'm afraid he'd be a big ol' anchor for her & that she might be better off on her own. It would scare the bejesus out of me watching her up there but I think it would be good for her. I dont' want her to be afraid of everthing like I am.

I started getting scared when they strapped the harness on me, and questioned my sanity as the boat took off. After having risen just 10 feet in the air I could not believe how smooth the acension was and the ride was perfect, not scary at all. This turned out to be the most breathtaking thing I've ever done and I'm SO looking forward to doing it again. DON'T BE SCARED - DO IT. I know you will not regret it.

I completly agree, I did it when I was younger with my dad. I went up in my own harness b/c I wanted to prove I could. I was so scared but after I saw a dolphin I just wanted to stay up as long as possible. While I was up there I saw tons of marine life, I never wanted to come down! I agree its something that you should do regardless of how scared you may be.

When you refer to CR what are you talking about? We are going first week of Dec., will it be too cold for parasailing?

CR - they're referring to the Contemporary Resort. If you go to the top of this page there is a link for abbreviations used. (Although strange enough they have Cont listed as the abbreviation for Contemporary Resort. Which I don't believe I've seen used.)

I must ask, since on a budget - how much does this cost?
Thanks.
