Looking for other things to do while we are in Orlando.Must be wheelchair friendly.DH will only be with us part-time so we will be limited to where my powerchair can go. The kids love animals, science and history. We have thought of going to Silver Springs but I have not looked to see if I can take the kids without DHs help. Please let me know your ideas.Thank you

I emailed Silver Springs last month to find out about their disabled facilities.
There is full access to the park but no access to any of the boat rides. :(
That was the whole point of us going, so we crossed that one of the list.
Gatorland is fully accessible as is Busch Gardens. Both the Universal Parks are accessible.
If you have any other places in mind, let me know and I'll investigate for you.

Thank you Whitequeen. For us it was the boats that attracted us to Silver Springs.Do you know if they let kids rid with out a parent? My computer was in the shop due for a couple of days so this hunt for places to go while we are in Orlando was on hold,so your kind offer of sharing your knowledge is wonderful. If the kids really want to go I am thinking of hiring a sitter to go with them on the rides I can not go with them on.The friend whose wedding we will be going to while we are in Orlando gave us a list of sitters who are happy to go with kids through the parks. Some sideline parenting is normal for me out in the real world, though I wish everything could be totally chair friendly.

I think we will go to Bush Gardens and Universal. We are thinking of Holy land as well.We reserved a van from Rainbow wheels with a lift.

Just to let you know I think Old Town is pretty handicapped accessible..Its on 192 about 3 miles down from Disney..nice cute shops and some rides and such.. Kind of reminds me of a county fair year round...also the Florida Mall is nice lots of stores.. I know a lot of people come from Europe to shop.. From what I am told the Euro or the Pound stretches further in the states..Just a thought...Enjoy...
