What audiobooks do you have?
And have you noticed there is no one good source for audiobooks?? I know there's audible, but there's a serious lack in certain genres. I wish there were more optoins out there.
I love the shuffle, too. Very cute!

Mac,
Audible had a deal where they would give you $100.00 off the price of a mp3 player if you subscribe for a year. ( For a time, I believe they were offering the 1gig iShuffle for free! ) I think the basic subscription is about $15.00 per month--which includes 1 periodical subscription and 1 downloaded book per month.
It seemed like such a good deal that I signed up last December (and got discount on a regular iPod for DH with it).
Which one do you use?

Sorry, I split from the ipod thread to hopefully get more information.
I *just* joined Audible, after buying four books from them (eek!) My first audiobook was Mysts of Avalon, and I loved it (although was disappointed it was abridged) Audible seems to have all the classics, but lacking in depth of certain genres. I would love to find competitors, but have not yet. My son's been getting me books from his friend's downloads (audiobooks seems to be a competitor to Cliff Notes) but they are not very good (and I'm wondering where they are getting them from :hehe:) I wish I had seen that offer - that sounds wonderful!

DC, do you know if you get referral credits if someone signed up? I can't find anything, but I've only been using it for a couple of days.

I have never tried audiobooks myself but, mam, being 86 now and her eyesight going....often gets them from the library.
For Xmas just gone, DH got War of the Worlds.

Library! I've not thought of that! I wonder if there is a way to get a tape recording to my computer... Hmmm....

I would try your library........ours has about 300. You can always request an audiobook of your choice too at the library and they will get it in for you.....at least our library does

Have you tried the "Don't Know Much About" series? DH has a few of those.
History
Civil War
Can't remember the rest. They're good. DH listened to them when we would take our long road trips.

...I hadn't heard of any referrals... Do they still have the cool deal on a mp3 player?
