I did a search for this and didn't find it. If someone else has posted this already I apologize for the duplication
As per the U.S. Department of State, starting in 2006 EVERY U.S. Citizen traveling outside of the United States will have to have a passport. They are asking that people traveling in 2005 to also get one. This includes children of any age
This includes places that used to only require a birth certificate and photo ID, such as the Caribbean, Mexico and Canada along with cruises visiting these places
Here is the official information

The only problem I have with passports is the passport photos. I know that person in my photo must be somebody else.
You know I have a strange habit. Whenever I go out of the country and come back to the States, I bend down as soon as possible, as if to tie my shoes, and kiss the ground. I think some people think it is strange, but they know what I am doing. After all, the Holy Father did that, so it can't be wrong.
When I drive back to Texas, I stop on the highway at the Welcome Center, and kiss the sacred ground of the Lone Star State. But you know, one time my cowboy hat fell off, and that old West Wind blew that hat all the way back over to the Louisiana side. I scuffed up my brand-new Nacona boots chasing that old hat.
My hair stands on end when I take off my cowboy hat. I call it "Hat Hair".

Cinderenie, if these posts had sound, I would sing you your state song:
"If old Ioway is your home..you're a fool to want to roam..because there's no better place at all for you".
It's amazing that every US state and most US cities have their own songs.
But it's only "The Yellow Rose of Texas" and "The Eyes of Texas are Upon You" that bring tears to the eyes of the toughest old Texan.
Florida has "Moon over My Hammy". Did I mention I used to work in an orange juice factory in Florida, but I got canned.. I couldn't concentrate.

Oh great...I'm so trying hard not to think about missing Texas :(
Applied for passports 3 weeks ago! Main reasoning for me is because I have a birth certificate from the American Consulate in Japan! It looks different from the ones from the States, and I think it's made out of rice paper! It's very fragile!

I like that segment of your post Victor, but although I find it apeeling, it could give others the pip. :rotfl:

That is a big expense for us. We have a family of 5 so I figured it would cost almost 500.00 for our passports. We have never had to have one, but with the upcoming cruise in March 2006 we have to have one.. Bummer.
