Hi all.......

Has anyone stayed in the World Centre Marriott? Just wondered if it is as good as the website and brosure say it is. We have booked to go in Feb 2006?

I understand it is in Lake Buena Vista - is it close to shops etc?

I've also read that you can see the fireworks from WDW from here - is this true?

Got a good deal, so not too bothered if it is like Falty Towers but would like to hear from someone who has been there!:rotfl:

Thanks

Abi

Haven't been there, but can tell you it's a pretty "fancy" place. It's near some shops, but you'll need your own transport. Nothing in walking distance.

I'd imagine if you were on the correct floor facing in the correct direction you could see fireworks from WDW. It's a high rise resort.

I'll bet you're going to have a grand time. Be sure to write a review for us when you return!

Thanks OKWTink

Sounds good to me - we got it through some friends who work for Marriott and the pics on the website look good. We have a car booked as I thought it would probably be best!

Will write a report when I get back - only 10 or so months to go!!!! Cant wait!!!

Thanks again

It is a great location, not really within walking distance, Orlando is not the most pedestrian friendly place, but very close to Downtown Disney and the rest of the property. They do have an observation area that faces NorthWest were you can see all the fireworks.

In 2000/2001, my wife worked for Marriott, so needless to say, we frequented the Marriott World Center. Outstanding. We even tried to stay there last year, but each time we called, they were booked solid.

It is a beautiful resort, beautiful pool, great restaurants, and many times most importantly, a great staff. There was even a bartender there that his name would change over the couple of years we visited. When we first started going, his name was Five, on our last visit, this gentleman of 50 plus years, had changed his name to Six. = Number of wives...

Hi all
New to this site but have been reading it daily for the past twelve months and felt i could be of help to this thread. My family and i stayed at the Marriott World Centre in July/Aug 2004 for 3 wks including Hurricane Charlie. What can i say about it? Well put it this way my 13yr old son is refusing to stay anywhere else in the future. It was fantastic. The pool is the biggest in Orlando. The bedrooms are brill. 2 double beds, large T.V. in a cabinet with a minibar underneath. 2 seater setee, armchair, standard lamp, writing desk, small coffee table, double sinks set in a marble top, bath, shower toilet, patio and patio funiture, sliding mirrored wardrobes safe and air conditioning. And yes if you get a pool view room which we did you can see the fireworks from Epcot.

The Marriott World Center is the largest Marriott in the world. It has 2000 rooms. Just because it is so large, that does not mean that you get less service. It is a four diamond resort with the largest heated pool in Florida and a wonderful golf course on the property. It has five restaurants, a family restaurant called Solaris, an Italian called Tuskanee, a steak house call Hawk's Landing, a Japanese restaurant called Mikados, and a sports bar call Champions. It is true that you will have to drive to anywhere if you need to get anything, but there is a Wal-Mart that is a little more than a mile away. It is convient because it is just across I-4 from WDW. SW and US are about a five to ten minute drive from there. To get a view of WDW from your room, ask for a room in the North tower. One great thing to do is go to the top of the North tower just before Illuminations go off at Epcot. Once you got off the elevator, there is a window that faces Epcot. This view, you will be looking down at the fireworks from Epcot. This is a unique that you will not be able to get from any other place. You will have a great time there!
