Hi there people. We are going back to wdw and staying at the asmv resort this time i am taking my husband, i was just wondering what is the position on tattoos? my husband has tattoos on his arms and chest - will he have to cover his arms to totally cover his tats? also would he have to cover up around the pool and not show them? we are not ashamed of his tats as they are quite nice i just wanted to see if they have a ruling on this??

No ruling for guests. They must be covered if you work for Disney, but guests are free to display them.

Oooh you might find some individual restaurants have a policy like that. Not sure if the Disney restaurants do - but some off-property places might have a cover-your-tatts rule.

You don't need to unless they're not kid-appropriate. :)

My step-dad has tattoos and no one has ever told him to cover his arms or legs while at a disney park or anywhere on disney property. None of the restaurants we have eaten at offsite have told him to cover them either.

DH has one on his arm and he's worn tank tops with no problems.

I'm glad to hear that. My DH has some tattoos on his arms and legs. They are very nice ones. One is for our daughters, one for me, and 4 on his leg to show his love for his country, eagles and flags. Got those after 9/11.

He would have us pack up and leave if someone told him to cover his tats. That's just the way he is.

There is a man who goes to the parks who is covered with Disney tattoos. I saw him in Epcot a few years ago.

DH and I have many tattoos between us. The only reaction we have ever encountered is admiration and being asked where we had them done etc.

No problems at all when we've been in any of the parks, restaurants etc. Also youngest (grown-up) son at the time had multiple piercings and no one said anything to him except to ask where he had them done. He did get one piercing done in his ear at the tattoo place in the Old Town. He bought a couple of cheap spares and pierced the ears of his Mickey Mouse hat which caused a lot of amusement in the parks.

My dh has found out that there is a tattooist in kissimee and is quite keen to have it done there, does anyone know kissimee that well?

Wow, Disney must love him. He's like a FREE walking advertisement.

Did you know that the man in question had to get permission from Disney to have the tattoos done, otherwise he would have been in breach of Disney copyright....Honest it is true.

I was wondering about that as i fancy having a small tinkerbell tat on my shoulder blade (it will have to be small as i don't like pain!)
