Hi..This is not our first trip to WDW but it will be a different one as my DH cant go and I am taking my mother and our 2 DD. My sister lives in Daytona so she is going to come and visit. Here are my ?????'s:
We are planning for October.

Should I stay on Disney property and buy a package with our tickets, not rent a car and rely on Disney transportation or Rent a house off Disney, rent a car and buy tickets seperately?

We have always stayed on Disney property, I would like to go to Universal 1 day as we have never been.

So what do all of you experts think?? I really would love your advice....
Thanks!
:D

Hello....Welcome and I am definately not an expert:) . I am sure someone will come along real good advice in a little while.:D I guess I would have to ask how long you are staying? It also depends on how much traveling off Disney property you are going to do. (ie shopping, universal, seaworld). You could always stay on property and rent a car (even if it is for the one day you are going to Universal).

My family has stayed both off and on property. IMO I like staying on property and having a renting car. You get benefits of EMH and Disney transportion. If we want to go off property to get dinner or to a different park we have the car we can. I guess its kind of the best of both worlds. Well I hope I helped. Good luck and have a Great trip!

How old are your DDs? Will the four of you share a room if you stay at WDW? Will your sister expect to share your room or get her own if you stay on site at WDW?

What is your budget?

Have you considered booking (or at least pricing) the WDW components separately? Renting a car for only part of your stay and relying on WDW transportation for the other part?

Lots of options available. A little more information might be helpful. :)

One thing you could consider is staying on site and then rent a car just for the one day that you will need it to go to Universal. Enterprise has some good one day rataes, at least in this area.

The daughters are 6 and 9, My sister will expect to have her room with us. We arent on a tight budget, I think the best option is the house rental. I just hope that its nice and that i dont miss staying on Disney too much! Renting a car for just the one day was a great idea though!

The only thing to think about is the added benefit of EMH's 3 hrs at night is a lot of time in the park, and who can pass up the FREE service of the Disney Magic Express. If someone wants to pick up and deliver my luggage, Hooray!!!!!!!! Taxis are a great Idea if you just want to go to Universal and be picked up from there, You can prearrange a time for pick up from there with the taxi service.

We have friends who rent a house for their visit and they love it because they get their own pool. They also rent a car from the airport during their stay. We drive ourselves there, so I can't help you on that.

I have ancestors from Saranac Lake region.
