I posted a couple days ago asking which moderate to choose and got some good answers. While we'll probably go with a mod, I'd like to know which deluxe you'd pick, just in case we change our minds. We both agree it would be really nice to stay there, especially one of the monorail ones (though any would be good).
Background: we're going down with the IL's, and staying with them at FW for a week. Then we're staying with relatives. But, for just one night we're going to leave our DD (who will be about 16m) with MIL and get a room for the night.
Thanks!

It it's just for one night & just you & DH then I'm thinking romantically it would have to be Grand Floridian if money isn't a concern. For a cheaper but just as dramatic stay I'd suggest AKL too. Of course, my all time fave is BCV.

The Poly! :D You can walk to the TTC and get the monorail to Epcot or catch the resort monorail to MK. It's very romantic at night. I loved sitting on the beaches watching the fireworks, the torch lit pathways, the pools...... I wish I was there right now! :sigh:

For romance, I'd choose the Poly................but I'm not big on romance. For a once in a lifetime experience I'd choose the GF. For price and just because it's on the Monorail I would, and have, chosen the Contemporary.

If the monorail is important, along with cost then I would choose the Polynesian first, then the GF, then CR. If the monorail is not important then I would choose AKL. Then any resort around EPCOT would be great.

Putting on my maternal cap here... stay at the Wilderness Lodge. You'll be in the same vicinity as Fort Wilderness, and not feel so far away (that tug can be awful!) Plus, you feel very far removed, and the honeymoon suites (king bed, lovely waterspout jacuzzies, peaked ceilings, etc.) are just lovely. Have an intimate dinner at Artist Pointe and a lovely moonlit stroll in front of the lake after, listening to birdsong and crickets, and you'll have a wonderful evening. I think you can even do a carriage ride from there as well.
Best thing is that it's the least expensive of the MK resorts, so you won't have to hit a Moderate. :D

If money's no object GF but if it is the Poly is beautiful - maybe you could do the Spirit of aloha dinner show or O'hana's for dinner.

My favorite picks in order would be :
GF
YC
BC
POLY
Now that all said though, I have yet to stay at the BWI (or the BWV's) but...I've heard excellent things about BWI...you may want to check that out ;)
Decisions decisions .....

I would vote for WL or GF. If you stay at GF, you will have easy monorail access to all the restaurants at Poly or CR as well. Lots of Choices for a romantic dinner. If you want something a little less expensive, I would pick WL. Both seem so romantic and so close to MK.

The wilderness lodge is fantastic and an absolute bargain! ok no monorail, but an easy boat ride across to the Magic Kingdom and a wonderful resort.

i think the AKL is the most romantic, at sunset watching over the savannah...i think that's where we're going to renew our vows

I would have to suggest the AKL!!! I just returned yesterday from a surprise four day trip for DD. I had never stayed the the AKL before and I got a great rate with an Annual Pass discount. This place is absolutely breath taking!! The service was great - the views are great - although we had a pool view you could go down to the 2nd floor (I think) and see the animals or walk around the Savannah. You can also get night vision goggles from the front desk to see that animals at night. I would definitely want to stay there again. The food at Boma was to die for!!

The Poly for me, with the GF a close second.
The animals are entirely too close at the AKL - I don't want to see a giraffe looking in my window. The poor animal might well fall over from the shock. And suppose I go sleep-walking outside, and wake up suddenly amidst the zebras. The color scheme of those animals would be too much for my nervous system.
