Hiya,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if I am budgeting enough money for our food for our holiday. I know it is really hard to help people with budgets because you really don't know how much they are likely to spend, but any help would be much appreciated :D

We are going for 2 weeks, and its just my boyfriend and myself. My boyfriend can be a big eater but I eat a normal amount ;)
We wont need to buy breakfast as we get a free buffet at our hotel so its just money for lunch and dinner and snacks (to keep my boyfriend happy ;) ).

We will be eating lunch at the parks (some kind of fast food) and will eat dinner somewhere offsite. We are not wanting gourmet meals or anything, we will probably go to places like Denny's, TGI Fridays etc for dinner.

So I have budgeted $80 a day for the two of us (i.e. $40 each).

What I really want to know is if this is waaay off that amount that we should be taking? I have been looking at the menu's on the website but they don't have prices for the restuarants offsite so I can't tell from that. As I am in the UK I have no idea about the prices of US restaurants.

Sorry I have rambled for so long!! :D

I would add another $20.00/day to your budget just to be on the safe side.

I agree with the guys on this...even if you're eating breakfast at the hotel, food can be a bit pricey at the parks and you'll be snacking more than you realize. Remember you're walking and walking and if you're like me, once I start walking, my tummy starts to rumble "FEEEED MEEEEEE!!!"

I agree with all the walking but what really kills me is when you start smelling some of the good stuff from the vendors especially the popcorn. :D

Thanks for the replies guys :D

As for the walking making us hungry... my boyfriend doesn't need much of an excuse to want to have something to eat! I am sure the smells of the food will make him even worse than normal! ;)

I keep telling him about all the tasty things he will be able to get there... so $100 will probably be better :D

Thanks again!! :)

I always figured out 10. for breakfast......10. for lunch and 20. for supper.....which would be 40. per person a day. I would up it for just in case to 50. But when it comes to snack and drinks at the park is another thing....drinks are 2.50 each and if you want a special cup it's more like 5. and ice cream in up there too. cookies, popcorn, all that can really add up specially if it is really hot. So I would take 100. per person per day and what is left over each day went towards a shopping spree at DTD and if any was left, I had it for my next visit or to pay a bill when I got home.

I try to do $40 a day. For me that's enough for a normal day. For my bf it's a different story. We always budget one nice dinner though. That usually spoils the budget. Oh, and are you old enough to drink? That really throws off my budget as bf is an irishman!!
