Hey Guys,
I finally have my holiday money sorted, i am taking 1,200 pounds or $2200.
This is just for me for a 2 weeks stay in June, so i am thinking this is enough, especially since i have all my park tickets already. The reason i am asking is because i was talking to a customer in the shop where i work and she seemed to think i would need at least $3000!!!
I'd appreciate any thoughts, thanks guys, :)

Probably need more info on what that's supposed to cover (like is your hotel, car rental, etc already paid for). If it's for food and souveniers, unless you go seriously overboard, I think you'll have more than enough.
Always wise to take a credit card for emergencies though.

If that's just for food & souveniers then I think you will be fine. Try to do a bit of a budget by using the menus that are available on this website. I find that to be very helpful.

Should be plenty if it's just food and souvenirs for yourself. Struggled to spend that much one trip with two of us. Came home with an extra bag too.
Might be worth having a back-up credit card just in case though.

That should be enough. Pre-budgeting food is indeed a good idea. One thing you may wish to consider is if you are planning to do any WDW backstage tours (extra cost) or excursions. These can add quite a bit to your allowance. :)

Hi i took that amt for my last trip for myself and 3 kids (14,12,3) and my mother. I divided the amt by how many days i was staying and just took that amt out with me. I even had money left over at the end of the day and then i had more the next!!! I still bought gifts and meals and felt i was not scrimping!!!What i did not do was to eat at the main park resturants. I ate at my food court (all star movies). Next time i go i will be taking more due to the fact i have a year of saving last time i only had 6 months!!! have fun

You will have plenty, even if you eat very well. I would figure around $40. for a sit down meal (without alcohol) and $10-$12. for a counter service meal. Even if you ate two sit down meals a day and had a couple of snacks, you shouldn't spend more than $100./day on meals and that will leave you close to $100./day for gifts and entertainment.
I find that restaurant meals are quite big-even for my young adult sons-so in the interest of health, we tend not to eat more than one sit down meal a day and pick up fruit at the grocery.
You can really do Disney without spending a fortune. DD and I did a quick "budget"trip in February. She doesn't like wasting times sitting down for meals and is not big on breakfast and I only spent around $50./day on food for the two of us. We didn't restrict what we ate or when and had some pretty good meals. Check out the menus before you go. There is a pretty big range in pricing at WDW. One of my favorite places to eat in Disney is Tusker House, a counter service in AK where you can get an excellent salmon meal for $10.

For those people staying at WDW resorts only, they have a new meal plan for $34.95 per day for adults, which seems a bargain. It includes one counter service meal, one full-service meal and a snack. Travel agents know all about it.
But on the other hand, the off-site hotels are generally surrounded by restaurants which are less expensive than WDW ones.
An easy way to save big bucks is to not have a full-service meal with drinks, particularly during the higher evening prices. Having said that, I know people on holiday want to have a good time.

I think the person recommending the 3000 bucks must have thought you'd be doing some major spendin but if you're not planning on visiting the malls for more than a day then i'd say the amount you're taking will be fine =]
