My boyfriend and I are going on our first WDW vacation (we're DLP fans) in October (well Sep30-Oct14), what is the weather like then? Wet? Dry? Hot? Cold? Hurricany? :eek:

i did go that time of the year and the weather was great, apart from the 1st day when it was raining, rest of the holiday it was sunny, not too hot but just right :D

October is a great time of year to go. While it is still officially hurricane season they are very rare at that time of year. It is also during Food & Wine Festival at EPCOT.

October can be the nicest weather month of the year. MNSSHP is going on at MK, and the Food and Wine Festival which has been extended to a full 45 days is underway at EPCOT.

Hurricanes. Well, none of us in Florida are going to attempt to second guess those babies after last year! Suffice to say, the "season" doesn't end until December first, but since hurricanes don't much pay attention to a calendar...

There is sufficient warning that one is headed our way though. For all the comfort that may give you. :unsure:

You should have a lovely time in October. :yes:

It is really nice in Oct. It is about 85 on average, and it is rare for hurricanes, since it is not the peak season for them.

I was down in 2003 from Oct. 23-Nov. 1, and the weather everyday was nice, and i don't remember it raining :D

Actually, October is right smack in the heart of Hurricane Season. :) I don't think that is a huge factor, just clarifying.

October is the best time of year no lines and the weather is in the lower 70s just wonderful weather you will have a great time! :)

Well all in all it looks like the October weather should be nice and warm at least for us Brits, even the lowest they have is 18 degrees C which is still pleasant! I'm looking forward to it now! :)

warm for us brits!!! it feels like a lot more than 85degs i can tell you, we have been in oct twice b4 and it was baking, a few showers in the late afternoon on the 2nd trip then baking again, no rain at all 1st trip, the weather is just superb in oct, your gonna have a fantasmic trip wolfie :D

It's not for like 3 months, but if I smell suncream or moisturiser or taste Dr Pepper or Root Beer, it makes me think of my last US holiday (California) as well as holidays in general (suncream always does), which gets me excited! I'm going to sleep thinking of the holiday these days, Im dead excited and it just cant come quick enough!!! :)

i know how you feel, just look at my countdown :cry: wanna swap :lol:

last oct trip we went real late 28th till the 11th nov, then 2nd week good really cold in the evenings, dont know if thats usual for nov, but we are gonna go back to last 2 weeks in oct much better weather :woohoo: :D

We are going for a second time in October this year! We went in 2003 for our forst trip at the end of October and the weather was absolutely perfect. Warm and dry but not too hot! You'll have a great time I'm sure!

DITTO!! We ave always gone in Feb/March but last year we were there from October 15h till November 7th & the weather was the best we've ever had - no rain at all. We are going again this year from Sepember 23rd till October 14th & hoping for similar weather.

we were there then katie, and when you left for home we had a few days of all day drizzle :(

Oh - I'm really sorry to hear that - it was a lovely day on the day we left. We had days of all-day torrential rain (not showers) when we were there with our sons in 2000. DH threatened never to go again (he hates rain) but I persuaded him & we're still going but I pray it stays dry just in case he threatens never to go again.
