Remember me? I have been a lurker here, more recently. However, I just got back from the 4/30 Eastern, so if you have any questions... Below are a few highlights of the trip.
Woobie
1. The past few cruises, DCL has been trying out new menues to add to the 10 day reprositioning cruises. I wasn't impressed w/them at all. The variety is lacking, as is the quality. Most disappointing was the removal of the chocolate lava cake & the grand marnier (can't spell it) souffle. That said, I still managed to gain all my weight back (despite 2 days of jogging & 1 exercise class).
2. As usual, the asst server is the hardest working, most genuine cast member. Ronnette was no exception this time (this was our 4th DCL). The head server was a waste of a tip. The cabin steward was equally awesome. He was asked by Disney to choose a family to do a towel animal making demonstration & he chose us. My 2 DSs can now make an elephant out of towels. Too cute.
3. We found that although the service on DCL is still excellent, it has slipped a bit. We did appreciate the lack of push for tips, however.
4. The entertainment was not a highlight for us this time. I loved Hercules, but it has gone away. A new show is coming, (Bumblesquats?) and I have heard many negatives about it. Disney Dreams is always great, but this time, the clock was off from the actual time in the show, and the Ann Marie actress wasn't as good as other times. The Golden Mickey's were disappointing. I had heard such hype about it, I guess I was expecting more. It seemed to be a glammer/adult version of Disney Dreams.
There is plenty more, but I don't want to bore you. Overall, we had an EXCELLENT time. My 2 DSs are already asking when we're going back on the ship. I'd LOVE to be able to tell them, but DH is an obstacle. Just let me know if you have specific questions.
