For our trip next year we will be staying at deluxe resorts for the first time. I believe the 2 we have chosen have complimentary valet parking for handicapped persons (AKL and GF).
If the valet parking is complimentary and is really too far from the entrance for the handicapped person to walk, crutch or roll.....do you still tip when the car is delivered?
Hope this sounds all right and is posted in the right forum.
Thank you.

Valet delivers the car right to the entrance of your hotel. I would think a tip would be given regardless of whether or not the parking is complimentary.

I would also tip regardless, especially since the valet's probably don't make a lot hourly and depend on the tips for extra income each day.

We will be using this service in December and we will tip each time the car is bought to us. If the valet helps me load the ECV he'll get $5 if he doesn't...................I'll kick him in the shins and throw a couple of dollars at him. :D
I wouldn't normally tip the person taking the car from me but if he helps unload the ECV I'll tip him.

I normally don't tip the person taking the car from me, only the one bringing it to me. But then I don't have a wheelchair for them to unload/load. I think it is great that you think that way WQ and I'm sure the Valets appreciate it.

I tip anyone willing to dash off in the hot sun and drag my airconditioned car to wait for me mere steps from the front door. :D
The AKL handicapped lot is right next to the front door, but if you opt for valet, it will be parked in the valet section, will not be a close walk, and I do not believe you will be able to get it yourself. If you use valet, it's best to tip.
