I am staying on property for my 8 day vacation. I was curious if we could try the other resorts swimming pools out while we are there. If YES, any recommendations?
Thanks!

Afraid not. Pool hopping is a big no-no in WDW.

Back in the day I think it was allowed but now it is no longer allowed. :(

There are exception - DVC members can hop with restrictions and you can hop to sister resorts (The All-Stars are all sister resorts and POR and POFQ)

Yes. JuniorMickey sums it up quite nicely. Also, the yacht and beach club share a pool.

This is the latest info on Pool Hopping for DVC Members
Pool-hopping reminder
"Hopping" to select pools throughout the Walt Disney World Resort is among the many perks of Disney Vacation Club membership. Please remember that pool hopping isn't available at Uzima Pool at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge or Stormalong Bay at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts. Due to expected high occupancy, pool hopping won't be available at any resort May 27-30, June 27-July 4, Sept. 2-5 and Nov. 21-27. Other restrictions also apply to this perk. Complete details are available in Perk Pages and at www.dvcmember.com.

I think less crowded times a year, their not really crazy about checking for hotel cards. When I was a kid my family would take us to the Contemporary pool sometimes when we stayed at Fort Wilderness.:hehe:

Just curious - how would they know? Ive hopped on buses to look around other sites with a view to staying at them the next time we chose to go so what would stop someone doing that and having a towel in their backpack? Ive never been asked to show my hotel card at the pools or on the buses.

When we were staying at the Yacht Club, our room keys were checked (there is a code on them that tells them where you are staying), and we were given wrist bands when we headed out to StormAlong Bay.
