View Full Version : All Star Movie Resort Yes or No???

I have to admit that I've never been to Disney. We plan to go in July and stay at the All Star Move Resort. My question is has anyone stayed there if so any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also any reviews. Thanks a bunch...

Love All Star Movies. It's the only Disney resort I've stayed at and I don't feel the need to try anywhere else. Theming is great, rooms are nice and clean, food court is excellent as food courts go, never had a problem with the bus service.

Tips? Hmmmm, try the western omelette for breakfast. :thumbs:

It's excellent!

No restaurant, just a food court but the food court is one of the best. Large with plenty of choice. The bus service is better than any other disney resort I've tried (including the deluxes). The feel there is one of Disney excitement! I really like it

all stars movies is excellent, the pool was fab and the bar is good too :D

Its great,we have been 3times and would go again.Food court great,buses run well,theming is brilliant.Get some refillable mugs,you pay once for them and then all drinks are free.Coffee hot choc,coke etc all at a central drink station in food court.Great value.

My mom always wanted to stay there. I have seen the outside of it and it is really nice. :) It is also newer than what the Music and Sports are. :)

Oh these posts are very reassuring, thank you. We looked at all of the Disney resorts but this seemed to be so geared towards children it seemed like an obvious choice(since ours are 4 and 15 months). However so many things seem to good to be true. Has anyone been on the Fourth of July? Since this is when we will be there. Oh and by the way sorry for the typo in my first post. Happy traveling all...

We stayed in the 101 Dalmatians bldg with our DGDs, and they LOVED it! The theming at All-Star Movies is fantastic! And I love their food court.

All Star Movies is great we went just after it opened in '99 and really enjoyed it we are staying at the ASMu in 4 weeks and are so looking forward :D

I think if your family is satisfied with having only a Food Court at the Resort rather than Restaurants, it may be all right. I know when I was ten years old, I much preferred this style of dining.

The All Stars are well designed for families with small children, I think.

:iagree: with all of the previous posts. We stayed there last August and loved it, we can't wait to go back next year.

Thank you so much for the pictures link...Disney should contact you since those were much better than the ones offered on their site. OK one more question...Is it worth upgrading to the w/meals package? We are debating whether or not to purchase this option since it will be my DH, DD 4, DS 17 months in July, and myself is it worth the extra $500??? Thank you for your positive responses it is only increasing my desire to get there...

Do you mean this July? Have you already booked it? All Star Movies is THE MOST POPULAR of the All Star Resorts and frequently books up, especially in July.

OK one more question...Is it worth upgrading to the w/meals package? ...

We are going to do it when we go next year. I think if you are going to be on site pretty much all of the time, it is well worth it.

I will be in the All Stars Music. I think the busing system for the All Stars is fantastic. :) I know that the food court at Music is great. The pools are awesome also. Very Disney.

My husband and I have stayed at All Star Movies. We really enjoyed the resort.

We stayed in the Dalmation Bld also. Great Resort!!!!

You might call and see about booking priority seating arrangements before you buy the plan if you can, We have never used the plan, but I talked to people who were having a hard time making PS arrangements while they were there. You will be there during a very busy time so I would see if there is seating still available before spending the extra money. If you budget well, you can eat for a lot less than that!
