Need help pin collecting

I was at WDW recently, and got somewhat involved with pins. I don't know much about collecting, trading, what's hot, what's not, who to trade with, how to get pins, how to know which ones can be purchased at Disney and which ones have to be obtained from Cast Members or lanyards? Are there other sites that offer more info and pictures of old and new pins? I did purchase a Pal Mickey and am super interested in collecting the teenie pins also. Lots of questions? Help!!! Thanks

I don't know much about it at all, although I do have a few pins myself.

I believe, one can trade pins with any CM who is wearing a pin laden lanyard. The CM can refuse to trade for the pin you request if the CM already has that pin on her/his lanyard.

My neighbor is a part time CM and he collects pins. He sells some at yardsales every now and then. I bought a Tinkerbell one from him. :D

But seriously, I don't know much about it at all. Others here will be along to give some good help soon.

DD and I started collecting on our last trip. Meezers, MeezersDM, and Bev W were very hepfull to me me when I asked questions and gave me a great link to check out. Here is a lin to that thread.....

When you you to the one link that Bev gives for the Disney Official Pin site type in Cast and that will bring up all the Cast Lanyard Pins. These are the ones that you can not buy.

I didn't really trade pins, but DD did and had a blast. She started trading the same pins over and over and then we starting learning to look for Cast Lanyard piins and started looking for those.

When I came home I started lookinf for certain pins on EBay. I fell in love with the 50 year golden castle pin that CM were wearing and swore they couldn't trade sure enough I was able to find it on ebay.....I still get confused on what is tradeable and what is not considering you;ss find just about anything on ebay as for other pin sites you can try these:

at DLP this summer they had a trade board out where you could swap one pin a day,we got a really old S/L pin but most of the pins were from other countries.

Go to www.DisneyPins.com . I printed out the latest series of Cast Member Lanyard Pins . I collected quite a few of them when I was there in May . Now I'm buying the ones off of ebay from DL to complete the sets .
Now about these teenie pins ? I also bought a Pal Mickey back in May . I got the free passholder t-shirt and pin . I had guset services go online for me, so I could do the quiz and print out the paper . I'll never forget the CM, Rennie, he was so helpful . :thumbs: there is also a website for Pal Mickey . I have3n't used it yet, but I think I might now that you mentioned pins . :lol:
