hey there, just under 2 weeks to go till my third trip to Florida, in the past have travelled in october, the last time being caught in a hurricane! anyway decided to go in july this year in the hope to get plenty of sunshine, however noticed that it rains a lot during this time and looking at 5-10 day forcasts at the minute looks likes there are a lot of thunder storms :(

well if anyone could tell me what its usually like around this time of year that would be great also is anything affected because of the rain/thunderstorms? how long do these usually last?

:tink:

Summer is Florida's rainy season. You'll generally get a thunder storm each day, usually late afternoon. They tend to last anywhere from 1/2 hour to several hours, generally being on average about an hour.

Just plan on afternoon poncho or rain jacket, as stated they usually last no more than a hour, and most guests panic & leave the parks, If you dont mind getting wet a little it is a great time to catch up on the rides. If it is going to be a really bad storm you will know!! You will not want to move from whatever dry spot you are at. We got stuck in toon town tent once for 2.5 hours I never seen lightning like that before but it passed & the park was empty

Hot and humid. Temps ranging from 92-95 during the day and 70-75 during the evening. Expect a daily thunderstorm between 3-5pm and lasting, usually, no more than an hour.

just got back and watched the weather and weather channel while out there. First week of June whole east coast of US had lots of thunderstorms and an early tropical storm 'Arlene' blew past Florida thankfully into the gulf, but the second week seemed to quieten down with more sunshine, but still short thunderstorms late afternoon. The storms did not disrupt anything - I guess Disney have the parades and shows at times before or after the mos usual storm times. However if a thunderstorm is likely then hotel pools and some rides will close for while. Considering the weather we had it did not impact us that much.

Been a couple of times in early July and going again next Sunday.
The times I've been the weather has been quite good. It doesn't rain every day but when it does it certainly knows how to come down.
If you happen to be in one of the parks it really does pay to sit it out as you can do lots of rides after the rain stops and the queues are very small, no more than 5 minutes on some of them. :)
