Hello
I am booking a trip on the Wonder for January 29, and was on DCL website last night and saw the average temp in January on Castaway Cay was like 64-70. Has anyone been during that time? and will it be cold on the beach? That was our favorite part of the cruise last time. We have been to the Turks and Caicos islands in December a few times and it was beautiful and warm. Is is similar do you think?

Well. I have not been on the cruise but I can say this. I lived in Orlando Fl, for 18 years and "winter" was nothing more then a slightly mild summer. LOL Heck I rember MANY christmas mornings running around outside in shorts and t-shirts.
With that said. I would assume that the cruise being further south, it would be even warmer.

Winters have been getting cooler in recent years. We had a couple of nights into the 40's last year. For those in cold climates, that's nothing. Florida Fort Lauderdale, that's almost down right frigid.

I've been on the DCL on the second week of January and it was chilly.
While at the Bahamas and Castaway Cay, the temp was in the low- to mid-70's. At night it would go down into the low-50's, but since the ship is at sea and with the breeze, it feels a lot colder.
There were still a lot of people in the water at Castaway Cay, including me  . The water temp was in the mid- to hi-60's, which I'm sure is paradise for some people from the north. I was just not going to waste the chance to swim at CC and decided to just put up with the cold water.
I think it is a nice time of year to cruise. Low season starts the third week of January, after the kids go back to school and normally it does not rain during that time so you have cool with bright sunny days.
