If it`s any help, the boat docks to the left hand side[facing the ocean] of the main square. I can`t remember it`s name, but it`s where people gather at night to watch the sunset and they have several street entertainers.

As you probably know, Key West is not very big and most of the touristy places are within walking distance [Duval St., the lighthouse etc.]

You get probably the best sunset viewing opportunity from the Magic itself, where you can relax in comfort as the sun goes down, sipping on the speciality cocktails they serve...sheer bliss!

If this (http://www.margaritaville.com/cafes/keywest.htm) is where you are looking for, then it`s in Duval Street, the end of which is very near to where the boat docks.
Duval St. is the "main" street there with loads of shops bars and restaurants including Sloppy Joe`s [Hemmingway`s hang out].

Well I know that silly but you are exiting the ship in Key West correct? I was implying that I could drive down to Key West when you're there and see you

I think it's a two-hour stumble back after you've had a few of the strong Margaritas at Margaritaville Cafe. A person may have to signal the medical authorities: "I've fallen and I can't get up!" and the Ship's Captain: "Don't let the ship leave without me, my legs won't work!"

The last week in October is the Fantasy Fest in Key West, when quite a few folks might have that problem: http://www.fantasyfest.net/

Word to the wise if you are going in August, just plan your route via small stores! Duck in, breathe in cool air..duck out, exhale, go in the next store,, repeat..did anyone ever tell you it is beastly hot in KW in Aug. I thought DW and I were going to expire! The only times (two visits) we have been to KW was on a cruise ship in August. The sun was brutal. One trip we actually thought, hey it would be fun to do a bike tour of the island!! WRONG! Clothing spontaneously ignited! Flames, smoke it was horrible!! Thank goodness for Sloppy Joes!! Margarittas were yummy!
