I cant help you with the Universal Homewood Suites but I can tell you that I have read great reviews on other forums. We stayed in the Homewood Suites on I Drive and it is a little gem. The rooms are large and spotless. The beds are huge and there is a TV in both the bedroom and living room. The living room/kitchenette is roomy too. There is a settee and an armchair, cofffee table and kitchen table and chairs. There is a hob and microwave as well as a dishwasher. Each morning tea and coffee is left. Popcorn is left on the first day.
I know that the facilities are almost identical to the one we stayed in.
There is such a saving with the buffet breakfast being included - it is so good - you can take it to your room if you wish. There is also a manager's reception several times per week where wine beer and food is provided. I cant praise this hotel enough - it is just fab! When the hotel says 'whatever it takes' - it means it! The staff just cant do enough.
The only thing I think that differs with this hotel is and the one we stayed in is that there are no room safes. I may be wrong but I am sure I read this. I have stayed in many hotels in Orlando but to be honest this is the best I have ever stayed in. Enjoy your stay.

I haven't stayed at that Homewood Suites but I have stayed at several others. Our first ever was in Lake Buena Vista and now they are always one of our first choices if we don't get a villa, not just in Orlando but all over the country. I agree totally with Maggs descriptions and find that they are usualy very reasonably priced as they are the moderately priced Hilton suite hotel. I have never had a bad experience at a Hilton. The breakfast is a real money saver-and they always have fruit and yogurt you can put in the fridge for snacks-and hen my kidis were younger, they always enjoyed the manager's receptions.

Yes they have laundry service but its quite expensive. There are washing machines for guest use on the 3rd and 5th floors.
