We're planning on going to WDW next July and as this time we only have to pay for the 2 of us and not the kids too (they're now grown up) we have decided to treat ourselves and fly first class.

We've always gone with Virgin in the past - last time we went with them Premium Economy - but this time we dont know whether to go Virgin or BA.

We definitely want the flat seat (bed!!) for the return journey so we dont want to do Premium Economy this time.

Does anyone on here have experience of either and can tell me what sort of seat you get on the Orlando flights. It isnt clear on BA or Virgin's web site whether you get the flat bed seats on those flights or whether they are still using older planes with seats that don't recline completely.

i would think it would depend on what you would like most - Virgin are more modern and contemporary whereas BA are more old fashioned - older cabin crew- classic service etc. Personally i'd choose Virgin.

You can look at the Virgin UCS here (http://www.upperclasssuite.com/en/gb/whatsonboard/upperclass/index.jsp). If you do not want the limousine etc. you can try for the 'lowest available' upper class fare which can save you quite a lot off the published fare. It can be cheaper to book an UC fly-drive with Virgin holidays rather than direct with VA too unless you are a member of the flying club and can cash miles in against the cost.

Would love the limousine but we're not quite that rich :D - we can manage the Upper Class 'lowest available' fare (roughly £1400 each in June/early July) but the one with the limo is £4000 each!!

Will take a look at the Virgin Holidays fly drive but I think the car hire costs will kill it (the CDW etc) cos if I book the car hire thru work I get the CDW for free, as well as preferential car hire rates and free additional driver for DH.

We flew BA last november in Club class, as the orlando flight does not have a first class on it (sat row 1). It was the cradle seats not the bed seats so you might want to check out with BA if the flat beds have been put into club. Had a very good flight, the plane was a 777, which is slightly smaller and slower than virgin's 747, so the flight did seem to take longer. If BA are still on Cradle I would definately fly Virgin espicially as it seems in the indication that the Upper Class Suite is now available which looks great.

oh yes you get the bar in Virgin which is always nice too. We are going Virgin in 4 weeks time but only PE this time as the miles did not stretch far enough for UC!
