Downtown Disney/Universal Citywalk

Hi

Are Downtown Disney and Citywalk easy to get to from I-Drive and how do you get there? Also will they have a taxi rank?

In fact, do all the theme parks have taxi ranks (just for the odd time we stay late at the parks and miss the last bus)?

Yes to the taxis. They are available at the "front" of all the parks. Not too sure about the universal location. I know they have them, but the way the park access is set up there isn't a "front" proper.

DTD is easily reached off I-4. Take the Lake Buena Vista exit, bearing right moving immediately to the left lane of the right side of the road. Left onto Hotel Plaza Blvd and straight on to DTD.

CityWalk is easily reached by taking I4 to Kirkman North exit. Take a left at the US/IOA parking garage, follow the road to the garage, park and walk in. Depending upon where you park, the walk can take up to ten minutes. That is one huge parking garage. :yes:

Taxis from Universal City walk are well signposted, and can be found on the right-hand side at the end of the moving sidewalk as you leave city walk.

The taxi rank can be found at the bottom of the escalator on the right-hand side. Even with the large amount of taxis available from universal studios. The queues can be very long at peak times.

If you are planning on using a taxi from this location and are travelling as a couple. I would suggest asking another couple. If they are heading in the same direction, and the sharing of the Cost.

Excellent, at least I know we'll be able to get a taxi back to hotel at night.

I forgot to mention, I won't be driving in Orlando. Are DTD and Citywalk still easy to get to by buses or from the parks themselves or will we need to get taxis there?

If you are staying offsite you'll have to check with your hotel as far as shuttles. You can get to DTD from any resort at Disney without a problem. You have to pass through City Walk in order to get to US and IOA

The first time I visited we didn't go to DTD or Citywalk but this time we want to take full advantage of everything! :D
