No. Remember that the majority of Florida is not set up for walking. What you've outlined in quite a distance

Is there a Foot path though? Ive walked further up i-drive before, from Quality Inn to Wet and wild which is about the same distance. If there was a foot path i might consider it.

The majority of I-Drive does have sidewalks. I'm not sure about the road leading to Universal??

i remember seeing people walk into Universal but have no idea where they walked from. It looks like it does have a sidewalk up Universal Boulavard but its hard to tell from Google maps.

People do walk to Universal, crossing over Kirkman Rd. It's a heck of a walk in the heat, but if you were going at a cooler time, it's not bad. The problem is, I think you are going to run out of sidewalk from time to time, but I'm not positive.
The traffic is very heavy and you may end up having to walk on the grassy edge. If you do, watch like a hawk for fire ants. They are really hard to spot (the mounds) and you can walk right into them and be bitten before you know it.

There is no foot path from Universal Studios to Wet 'n' Wild.
The route is Universal Boulevard from inside Universal Studios to I-Drive.
It goes over I-4. There is a curb which is part of any road design, but not meant to be for pedestrians. The road is not pedestrian friendly. If you were to try to walk, you would be walking only about 3' to 5' away from cars that are traveling 45-50mph driven by Central Floridians that are not patient when it comes to driving.

Thanks Sorcerer Mickey! I knew you would know about the sidewalks. I see folks walking across Kirkman all the time going to and from Universal, but am not sure where the are going. Some folks park in the TGIF parking lot and cross, that I know. And some are staying in the hotels in that immediate vicinity.
Crossing over I-4 is enough to make anyone think twice about that walk!
Doesn't the I-Trolley go nearly that far? Could one hop on that and take it as far as it goes and then cross Kirkman to US?

Well, you know Josette, that's strong, but could be accurate!

Yes
Stop #5 on Major Boulevard, which goes straight into Universal Studios, goes South down Kirkman. Stop #15 will be across the street from Wet 'n' Wild at the intersection of I-Drive and Universal Boulevard. Just cross I-Drive to get there.

Sorry I hate to argue witth you but its a perfectly pleasant walk done by many many people everyday.
As for walking 3' to 5' away from cars travelling at 45-50mph anyone who has been out of the house in the UK will have experienced that.
However knowing how folk hesitate about crossing roads in Florida (192 for example) it might not be a suitable idea for everyone.

We have walked the route but I wouldn't do it again especially if you have young kids. As the others have said, it's along a really busy stretch of road, unpleasant in the heat of the day and the road is not designed for pedestrians. The only reason we walked is because it was a Sunday and we got sick of waiting for a bus!

I cant remember the exact route but i did walk from Universal across to I-drive on one occassion. Dont recall having any problems and there were others doing the same. Its not exactly the shortest of walks but it is possible :)

Please keep in mind that the general Floridian driver is not expecting to see folks walking along a busy thoroughfare. There are many horrifying tragedies where visitors have been struck and killed while walking along a busy roadway, or attempting to cross one (such as 192)!
If you do walk, be very alert to your surroundings and do take note of the temperature. It gets extremely uncomfortable FAST walking in the heat of the Florida day (mid-May through the end of September).

To continue this point. It's true that the conditions I described can be found in the UK, but Central Florida is not a pedestrian minded "culture". As Tink said, people in general do not look out for pedestrians.
This past Sunday, Mrs. SM and I noticed a bouquet of flowers and a British flag on the shoulder of the intersection of I-Drive and Kirkman. Obviously, somebody was involved in a fatal accident at that intersection.
All I'm saying is, do not take unnecessary risks while on vacation, just because something is done and people have a certain frame of mind somewhere else, does not mean that you will find the same conditions here or that people will have the same courtesies.
Us Floridians who are part of these boards are just looking out for you who visit our area.
The I-Ride Trolley is only $3.00 a day for unlimited use, safe and air conditioned. It's there, use it  .

Well, it looks like a better option to i-ride it to Major boulavard then a shorter walk with footpaths down Universal Boulavard.
Thanks for all the input guys and gals
