DBF and I have just joined Virgin's Flying Club and are attempting to claim the miles from our trip to WDW in June but it's not having any of it. We flew on Virgin Atlantic but booked through Virgin Holidays, are we still eligible to claim the miles? If so, does anyone else know what we might be doing wrong? What format should the booking reference take? Should I miss out the /, ignore the first number, any other ideas?!

Thank you!

Yes you are eligible to claim the miles up to six months after your trip. The booking reference you need though isn't the Virgin Holidays number - you need what Virgin Atlantic call your your locator number. This is a combination of six letters and numbers. You may have been told it to book your seats online before departure. If you haven't got it the easiest way to claim your miles is by calling the Flying Club and give them the flight number and travel date. They will sort it out. :)

Thanks Alec, I don't think we've got the locator number anywhere so we'll give them a ring in the morning. :)

i had the same problem so I emailed Virgin Atlantaic with my details - they emailed me back (about a week later) with the booking reference number I needed - it all worked fine (I claimed my miles a few weeks after my trip).

Also, since booking my trip for next May, I had to email VA again, as the reference number I had wouldn't work on their site when I was trying to book my seats - all sorted now though :D

Do they credit miles for flights booked with Virgin Holidays? I thought it had to be flight only and not a package.

Yes you can claim Virgin holidays miles for yourself BUT if you recommend someone to the FC for the referral bonus miles, VH flights do not count. :)

Iona I don't know if you have tried to contact Virgin yet, I was in touch with them a couple of weeks ago and had great trouble getting through whilst being charged a national rate number. I have a link here (http://www.saynoto0870.com/search.php), if you put virgin on the search you will find a non-national rate number - save some pennies  .

Thanks Tricia, we haven't got round to ringing them yet so I'll either try that or Adam's email idea.
