I notice that DCL offers a wine option. On the 7 day cruise you can get 7 bottles of Classic Wine for $159 and 7 bottles of Premium for $249. Does anyone know exactly what the difference between Classic and Premium is?
Thanks

actually screw tops don't define a wine anymore- quite a few of the reasonable bottles of wine have screw tops and are fine :D
Breeze

Maybe that's it, the screw on tops are cheaper because cork costs more :D

You're right folks I walked right into that one.
Thanks Terry. Not a WHOLE lot of difference. There are some pretty good wines in that Classic Selection. Not sure if it is worth the extra $90 to go for the Premium package. Minor problem is that Donna will probably be eating mostly red wine meals, while I may eat a lot of fish dishes, that call for white wine.

I have to agree with you John.
As our friends who were with us appreciate wine, we opted for the Premium package, although previously, we have found the Classic selection to be fine by us.
Both packages do represent a 25% saving though, were you to have wine every evening with dinner, so it`s well worth subscribing if you fall into this catagory.

Thank you, Slowhand! I knew you'd have the answer! Now all we have to do is make a decision!!!!! Both lists sound great (well, except for the blush... I'm not big on white zins) and offer some excellent choices.
Oh, and Bev, I'll be watching you - closely!!!!!

Ok in that case, remember that you CAN actually drink the bottles over the entire length of the cruise! You need not "pop the entire cork" the frist night!:D

So the only reason you're taking Bev on the cruise then is that she doesn't drink and you won't have to share your wine with her. Geez, I don't drink wine and you won't let me go :sigh: :(

The list Slowhand gave you is right John, the only difference is that the Banfi Chianti Classico Reserva has now been replaced by the Antinori Chianti Classico Reserva. I've got a full list of all the wines available on board which I am going to send to Jo, which has all the prices for glasses and bottles, I'll copy it and send you a PM, you can see how much you are saving then.

The Premium Package Banfi Brachetto d`Acqui,
This is a great dessert sparkling wine (it is a red sparkling wine)- we first had it in the Italy pavillion in Epcot as it was the wine by the glass of the day. We know buy it at home during the holidays. It is a little on the sweet side, but not overly so, that is why it is labeled as a dessert wine
