I am annoyed we got an email today from expedia saying the virgin flight has now changed from 11.15 flight 27 to 12.30 flight 15 I am annoyed that they would do this. Has flight 27 been cancelled or did they just change us for the sake of it.
I dont like leaving Gatwick later and my good seats I reserved have gone.
Is there anything I can do?

Hmm the 27 is running so not sure what has happened. Have you rung Expedia up and asked them why the change?

On the VA website it shows Sunday VS027 flights throughout September but when I put in for a reservation it only showed the VS015 so the VS027 must be fully booked. It was showing both the VS016 and VS028 for a return date of Oct 2nd though!

But if I booked it then how can they change it.

The plot thickens as alot of dates have no VS027 showing just the VS015 and likewise for the return one is showing the other is not! Perhaps due to lack of booking VA have combined the flights and if people are making connecting flights to get to LGW then it makes sense to cancel the earlier one and move people onto the later one. I must say in July the flight coming home was very very quiet.

Right phoned them and the first flight was cancelled. strange cause some sights are showing the 11.15 and 12.30 flights but oh well just get in a little later. Doesnt bother me too much but earlier would have been nicer.

I guess some sites just haven't updated their details if this is an irregular thing, which it is depending on how well flights sell etc. It is nice to get there earlier I agree but at least you are still going on the same date, better than some other airlines I guess!
Hope you have a lovely time :D

That's happened to me a lot when I book flights far out. Always annoying, isn't it?

Yes very because if I wanted that flight I would have booked that flight.
On the up side we will have time for a nice fry up at the BnB before heading to the airport.

It's interesting that Virgin are changing to three flights aday later on in the year. I know they do this currently at peak times but they are going three flights aday every day soon. I wonder if they will change to a smaller aircraft if things continue. They have some smaller A330 that they use at Heathrow..
On a side note does Virgin have the Nintendo game systems working yet on the Gatwick-Orlando flights??

When we went from Manchester last year there was a games console in built in tv set dont think it was nintendo standard though.
Trouble was I was sat in middle of two kids...my controller worked my sons tv.....my daughters was fine .....my sons didnt work at all!!!
Same seats same thing on the way home :(
At least the kids were happy and i just sat with wires across me!!!

It's unlikely you will get nintendo games on an Orlando flight. The Manchester planes that did have Nintendo have thankfully been returned to Air Atlanta too. :)

Just got a phone call from Virgin yesterday and out return flight has been cancelled and we have be pushed onto the earlier flight. Particularly annoyed as we had chosen seats on the upper deck in PE and now that we have been pushed onto earlier flight they have all be reserved and we have been put downstairs. At one point we were all split up which was even worse. Not that impressed at all with this sort of service. Got quite cross with Virgin yesterday but there is nothing they can do until day of check in now! I am a nervous flyer and always buy PE so that we can be upstairs as it is much quieter. Oh well, fingers crossed they will be able to sort it on the day, as they have put a special request in. Anyone got any suggestions on how I might influence a change?

I noticed my seats were changed too. I have decided just to try and be really nice to the check-in staff and get back where I wanted to be.
