Transportation from Park to Park (Park Hopping)

Just wondering about transportation from park to park if we want to park hop. Do buses/monorails/boats take you directly from one park to another...or do you have to transfer to get from one park to another. One other question, when waiting for Disney transportation, are there any covered areas (shelter from rain or sun)? Thanks!

The wait areas are covered, for the most part, with the exception of some resorts and I believe Downtown Disney. You might not be out of the sun fully during certain times of the day, but there's a good chance you will be.

For park to park transportation, it depends on the park. Joanne's got a transportation grid on the main site, but I'm having incredibly tough time searching for it.

I believe that hopping Park to Park is quite easy on the Disney Buses. Of course from EPCOT you can get to MGM on the boat or by foot and to MK by monorail. Only AK really requires the use of a bus.
