How many adults do? It sounds like fun but I don't like standing out too much

We will be a couple (in our 40s) with no kids attached so will we look out of place if we dress up like the families do?

susieh, my DW and BevW are talking about making Bev's DH and myself dress up to include wearing a dangling earring and my ears aren't pierced. BTW, we are all in our 50's.

Oh, do it, you'll have a ball

We didn't the last time we were on the DCL because we didn't know about it, but we wished we had.

Great photo ops  .

We did not see many passengers "going the whole hog" and dressing up on Pitates Night on our recent cruise.
During dinner everyone was given a red bandanna which many people used to make a fancy hat....I have a photo of one of our friends to prove it!

On the 4 and 7 night cruises, after dinner there is a pirate party. I think that's what they're referring to for dressing up, rather than the dinner :)

They had a pirate party on our cruise Jo [3 day], but as I said, not many people dressed up for it.

Actually, according to what I've read, it starts out as a Pirate dinner with the menu printed on parchment and rolled up like a scroll. There are apparently some tasty pirate "treats" being offered - like Black beard's jumbo crab cake or The Black Pearl's oven-roasted beef tenderloin.

After dinner, the party continues on in grand pirate style with Captain Hook, Mr. Smee and other characters!

Who doesn't love to dress up? I think it sounds like so much fun, go for it. :)

On the cruise last week, not many people dressed up. The dinner is themed 'pirate dinner' and the menu is given on a scroll. Each passenger is given a red scarf to wear and you can take it to the after show. Some children did dress as pirates but I hardly saw any adults. The pirate show is on deck 9 and is really well done. Most of the adults were in casual clothes and many were still wearing the red scarf from dinner. Some children had pirate hats but the vast majority didn't. There are fireworks during the show and you'll have a great time!

Well, we have eye patches, earrings, and other pirate "stuff" to wear on our Pirate night! I'm looking forward to it!
