car rentals????

im going to start planning our 2007 w.d.w. trip soon. as of right now we will be staying at the poly, or c.b.r., we will be flying from balt. to orlando, & im thinking of renting a car at the orlando airport...im not a big fan of waiting on buses, i like to get in the car & go.....any feed back on car rentals down there would be greatly appreciated, like prices, best place to get one, daily rentals or weekly???.....thanks for the info!!!!!...

We have used Dollar car rental each visit and have had no problems at all. The cars have been new and clean. You can pick the car up from MCO too which is handy. There are other car hire companies at MCO.
We are using Dollar next visit too. The convenience of having a car is a must for us as we stay offsite and travel to BG and KSC etc.
If you are staying onsite and aren't planning on leaving WDW property much, maybe you could manage with WDW transport.

We got ours from Alamo at the Dolphin. It was really convenient as we were staying on site, so it was a quick bus ride over to the Dolphin. It was our first time driving on the wrong side of the road, so didn't want to pick the car up from the airport :D

We rented from Dollar at MCO as well. It was really easy. While I waited with the kids for the luggage to show up, DH went to the Dollar counter and checked in. They told him where to go in the Dollar section of the parking garage to pick out the mini-van we had reserved. We collected the luggage and headed for the garage where we got our pick of the vans there and ended up with one that had only 6 miles on it! You drive thru their check out booth and you're off.

I am a member of National's Emerald Club so we use National Rental Car. Right at the airport. And good quality cars.
