If it is an AM EMH, the park opens one hour earlier than posted time. If it is a PM EMH, the park stays open three hours later than the posted time.
If you would like to know which park is hosting EMH on which day, try this link:
http://www.wdisneyw.co.uk/hours.html
Click on the month you will be visiting and find the day in question. The park hosting EMH will be notated by either a "EMH pm" or a "EMH am" (or sometimes both  )
As to whether or not you should take advantage of these extra hours, well that is totally up to you!! :D Some say that the parks hosting EMH tend to be more crowded...however given the time you are visiting I wouldn't expect the crowds to be TOO high (although it will most likely by higher than usual given the Free Dining Package). If you are an early riser, the morning EMH can be a great bonus, especially for AK (the Kilimanjaro Safari is usually EXCELLENT in the morning hours), you can also use the bonus morning times to work in those "not to be missed rides" that may get crowded later on....The night time hours can also be good, the parks, IMO, always have a different "feel" at night, and so it can be quite exciting. However having little ones as you do, I'd DEFO recommend a mid day break and nap if you are going to be taking advantage of those :D

Certain parks open an hour or two early on the designated days. Other times, they stay open later...anywhere from 2-4 hours later. This is only open to guests staying at a Disney resort.
I would definitely plan to hit each park on their EMH days. Personally, I prefer the Extra Magic Evenings...The crowds thin out a bit, plus you don't have to be there right at rope drop to make full use of your day. (I like to sleep in a bit!)
Just know that it isn't always every attraction or show that is available during the extra hours. Maybe 50-75% of these are available.
If this is your first trip, I'd buy one of the many books that help you plan your trip. :book2: I think 'Birnbaums' (sp?) is one of them. [Disney with Kids; Disney without Kids; Disney for Kids; etc]
Also, I think the Disney Web site gives you ideas, tips, and a place to build an itinerary. :Puter:
Enjoy!

Although there are some really good books on disney I have found this site to have more up to date inforamtion plus you have members here that can answer just about every question you could ever have about disney and orlando!! I would check out the book from the library and save your self a few dollars.

:iagree: although there is nothing like having a WDW book to read on the plane on your way there :D
You're right though, I don't think I've ever had a question unanswered on here, and nothing is a daft question either......
