We have made yet another ADR  I dont even think we will have time for the parks all we are planning to do is eat our way around disney.

Anyone ever eaten at Teppanyaki, how did you find the food, how many people sit around the grill? Are the chefs friendly do they put on a "show" when cooking the food? I think our kids will find it fun to eat there -- I hope so or one of us will have to do the "walking around outside with the little darling missing dinner thing"

Our dd has celiac diesease so no wheat or glutten does the food have sauces it is cooked in? She can have all kinds of veggies, chicken, beef, seafood and she loves rice. It is just sauces many times have flour as a thickner and that is out for her can't even be cooked on the same cooking surface. I have thier number and will be calling them as our dates get closer.

One of my favorite places :)

There are 8 seats areound each grill. They usually sit you with others if you don't have 8 people. The chef does put on a little show. The ones we've had have been great. They also do a little volcano thing with the onions.

Like all Disney chefs, they are great about allergies/dietary restrictions. I made the mistake of mentioning my allergy to mushrooms (nothing remotely life threatening) and the chef freaked out and wanted to prepare me a whole new meal. They cook everyone's meal on the grill. They use butter and soy sauce.....maybe something else. I'm sure they will be more than accomodating to your needs. They will clean the surface and cook a different meal if need be.

The food is really good. It's nice and relaxing. I've never been when it's crowded. The deck outside is perfect for watching Illuminations....haven't put that into practice yet.

I have eaten at Teppanyaki...It is very good. I do have to comment on a few things tho...First, and foremost... they no longer serve you salad and soup with your meal.. this is now an ala carte ..I think that is terrible because all Japanese restaurants serve that as part of the large price you are paying for your meal... I also encountered the chef who was not all that social with the table...Normally a show would be fantastic, mine was rather ho hum..yes he did the whole onion volcano thing, but they do that at every Japanese restaurant around the country.. If you like long waits that is fine but if you don't like long waits this is not the place for you... even in the off season of a frigid january we waited for over 30 minutes with a reservation. The food was good... not extraordinary but definately good... A little pricy but in a pinch a good dinner... I prefer Wolfgang Pucks sushi....oh yes and they do use soy sauce, ginger, garlic and lots of butter....that is basically their only seasonings...enjoy...

wow we've been several times and had no wait at all. The place has never been crowded when we've been.

That's one of my biggest pet peeves. I hate to go to restaurants and have to wait and wait and there are all these empty tables. Why couldn't we have been seated already?

We love Teppanyaki and go there every trip. My brother is a rather picky eater and enjoys it very much.

If I remember correctly....the sauces are served on the side for dipping and the only thing used on the griddle is soy sauce or things like that. And aren't most Asian sauces thickened with corn starch? Don't know how that affects the gluten thing but if def isn't wheat flour!

Hope you have a great time...the scallops are wonderful. Oh....if you eat your meat medium rare....order it rare...cause the griddle is so hot the meat continues to cook on your plate...plus it is cut up into small pieces.

Ask the waitress to make your daughter "cheating" chopsticks...they do something that makes them kinda like tweezers and kids of all ages can use them!

We have our ADR on Monday Oct 3rd 8pm maybe we'll see ya!! :overhere:

hopefully we wont have to wait too long as the number of kids makes any long wait seem 10x longer!!

I hope we can eat then go out on the deck and watch illuminations I do hope that only people who are eating there can go out otherwise I imagaine the deck starts getting mighty crowded .... those chopsticks will come in handy to prod folks out of the way  8 to a grill well there is 6 of us maybe we will get a nice couple seated with us!!

thanks everyone

Will they do "cheating" chopsticks for adults, too? I have zero hand/eye coordination.

with my hand eye coordination ... that and the fact that it seems my eyesight is getting to where I am peeking over the top of my glasses a condition my eye doctor so sweetly put as "getting old eye syndrome" - (no Christmas cookies for him this year!) I hope they are giving out boat oars as chopsticks :rotfl:

I vote whomever goes first asks for cheating chopsticks for adults....either that or say your child dropped theirs on the floor!

I may ask for them too...guess I am too tense with chopsticks...I get cramps in my hands from holding them so tight!
