I have a 8 day/7 night reservation but booked a 7 day magic pass as we wouldn't be able to use it for one of the days due to flight schedules. I have the 7 day (6 night) dining plan as well and was wondering if the dining pass would carry over to my check out (8th) day or end at midnight of the 7th day since that is the ticket it was bought with? :wacko:Confused? Me too.....

We are staying 8 nights/9 days our last day there - our check out day, we have a dining ressie on the dining plan and we can stay in the parks all day until they close. You can not charge to your room key after you check out but your dining and tickets are still acitve your last day. Does that make sense the way I worded it or have I just made matters worse :hehe:

Interesting...I'm almost sure I've used my room key for charges after I've checked out...because I distinctly remember packing the car, checking out, and then heading for a park...where we've bought last minute souveneirs, lunch, etc. They have always just charged my credit card a day or two later...wonder if this is a new policy? Or am I just imagining things...again
As to the OP's question...hmmmmmm...I guess I'm confused first off how you managed to book 8 day/7 night accomodations, and 7 day/6 night Disney Dining Experience...it was my understand that you *had* to book the DDE for the length of your stay...
Having said that...the "official" word from Disney (per MickeyMac, our handy dandy travel agent) is this:
You are given 1 Table Service, 1 Counter Service, and 1 Snack per person *per night* of your stay, and includes tax and gratuity. How you choose to split that up is up to you. It is good for the length of stay, so good from check-in until midnight of the day you check out of that plan.
So reading from that I would assume your credits would be good until midnight of the date you checked out...but like I said, that would only make sense if you booked your DDE for the length of your stay....
Hmmmmmm.....interesting....

hey hey wait just a minute there :hissy: I think I have been misled by my dear dear DH ... he said we could not charge on the room key anymore after checkout I think that was a evil plan on his part to keep those last minute trinkets down oh I will be talking to him in the morning :club:

We charged to the room after checkout in 2004. But, they wouldn't let us do that in Feb of this year

Ahhhh. So perhaps the policy *has* changed?
Sorry BearNecessities...I think we may have gone off on a tangent a bit...I still don't think you've gotten an answer to your question...
I guess it might be a good idea to call Disney and ask them...if you decide to do that, please do let us know what you find out? I'm sure someone else will come along with the very same question...

Well Poo to them. :p
I felt as if I wasn't leaving when I could still use my Key charge. I did get funny looks in Tesco Supermarket when I got home though. They wouldn't take my room key.:D

The dining plan does work after you check out. You get a number of meals, 3 a day, as has been said before... 1 sit down, 1 counter service and 1 snack (I think) .... so just keep track of how many meals you have spent of the total number in your plan.

Thanks to all. I did finally figure out what my package is saying. You were correct. The package says 7 "DAY" Magic your way Dining plan, but it is actually matching the 7 nights to match my room booking. As you said, if you add dining, you have to get it for the number of nights you are staying.
Appreciate all the help and lively discussion in this thread!

EXCELLENT NEWS!!! :bounce: So then, you've gotten it all sorted...good for you and thanks for letting us know!! So are we correct in assuming you have until midnight of the day you check out to use all of your credits?
