I havent actually been there but it was somewhere I strongly considered when looking for a hotel.

I didnt go for it because the reviews of it are very hit and miss and didnt want to risk it. Its one that is very much used by package holiday companies.

We stayed there last Sept and found it did the job nicely, it's your average hotel really, nothing really extra but I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if we were going to stay on I Drive.

Rooms are ok, a decent size with a fridge, microwave and safe.

Location is excellent for Universal, if you've got the flexi ticket then transport there is free, but it's only a short 5 minute journey so taxis are cheap. Wet and Wild is walking distance, and for Sea World you can hop onto the I Trolley. The bus to Disney cost us $14 (I think, could have been $12 but I can't remember now!) round trip per day, the only downside to this was that you had to stop off at several hotels on the way so the journey could take up to an hour.

I thought it was in a great part of I Drive, loads of things to do nearby, lots of shops and great restaurants to try out.

Hope that helps!

We stayed in the Quality Inn International in January this year. We found it to be Good, although the hotel reception staff were not overly helpful, they were not ignorant or rude either, just OK I suppose, although the bar staff were great. The hotel is perfectly located on International Drive, more so than the Quality Inn Plaza. The rooms were your typical Florida hotel room style, of a good standard and were clean and maid service every day. The safe in your hotel room ueses a key as opposed to electronic, which we had no problems with. The security was good. The two pools looked fine although we did not use them at all during our stay, to many other things to do. The only thing you might find is that due to the motel style of the hotel people coming in late and banging doors can disturb your sleep, but then you could get that in any hotel. The in room fridge was also very handy, along with free Disney channel for the kids, that helps in the evenings before their bedtime, come to think of it I think there was free cartoon Network also, but don't quote on that, it wasn't something that I paid particular attention to.
We liked this hotel, in fact we tried to book it again for our trip this October but it wasn't available at the time so we booked elsewhere.

You will be fine here, it's nothing special but of a pretty good standard.

We stayed there about 3 years ago and it was fine. Very basic but does the job and was clean. Going back on 18/8 (only half a day at work left!:wiggle: ) and are staying at the Orlando Grand Plaza resort, which i've read bad reviews of so keep your fingers crossed for us that they were wrong!

I stayed there on our second visit to Orlando. IMHO it was OK, in fact I had nothing really to complain about. I found it just a bit too big and the air conditioning was very noisy. I dont know if it has had a recent refurb but I thought it could do with one then. We had a room right by the pool - a great spot!
I also found the middle of I Drive a bit noisy - make sure you get a room that isnt facing the main road. QII is fine but since I stayed in Homewood Suites on the southern part of the Drive (amazing 3 star hotel) I have opted to stay there once again.
QII is very central - you will have a great holiday. :D

I've just got back today and have to say the Orlando grand plaza wasn't as good as the Quality Inn international. The first room we had was damp, smelly and noisy (as was opposite the pool area). We asked to be moved and got a room in the tower room which was better but still not as good as the Q inn

the hotel was fine, it was clean central for eating places and i trolley for sea world and i drive. we got the transfer from the hotel it was $14 each. we did get a taxi back one night and it cost us $30 dollars, so if there is group of you then that is the way to go. for sea world and discovery cove we got the i trolley at $1 dollar each way and it was fine.

you will have a ball!
