Hi,

We are going to florida on friday, and only now has my attention been drawn to IDP (international driving permit).

I havent applied for one, but do hold a full english license, no points or anything.

On the AA site it says a permit is recommended but not required.

I booked with virgin, and got the car with them. Does anybody think im going to have major problems, or has anyone used a hire car without the permit?

Looks like i might be using shuttle buses everywhere.

TIA for any help.

A UK Licence is sufficient for driving in the US. If it is a photo one you must take the accompanying paper with it to hire a car. Have a great time.

we've driven over there on our uk licence, never been asked for anything else and never had any problems just remember to take your licence with you.

The only thing we did was to ensure we took the photo card, and the paper bit.

Nothing to worry about then Mozzer.......you just go and have a fantastic time. WDW and the other parks are amazing, you'll be in another world over there. :micbounce

you wont need a driving permit mate just your license. If you are permited to drive in the UK you are fine in the US.
