Ok. I'm sure none of you know that John and I are taking a Disney cruise in Sept. Well, we are - along with BevW and her DH. LOL and we can't wait!!!
My question is, how should I pack? I have my swimsuits, my dress for formal night, John's tux has been ordered, I'll have shorts. But what about in the evening - will I need a jacket or sweater? And are slacks ok for me to wear to dinner the evenings we don't have to dress up?
So tell me... How did the rest of you pack for your cruises? What did you take along?

The phrase they kept using was 'resort casual'. I was really unsure what to take and took lots of different outfits just to be on the safe side! I had dresses, trousers and tops etc but I found that apart from the night when everyone was smart, most people tended to wear trousers with a casual top. I did notice that on the night that we were eating in Tritons, most people did dress up a little more. I was quite surprised at just how casual people were dressed in the evening as I expected it to be a lot smarter. I also found that after the evening meal, a lot of people changed back into shorts which I didn't expect.

I took like tan capri's and a nice top, black capri's,and some summer dresses for the dinners. Lots of people did change back to shorts after dinner. I also had a white zipper jacket to wear to see the shows, etc....as the air conditioning does get chilly. Don't take to many shoes. I had a suitcase full and only wore two pairs. There is alot of walking just as you were in the parks. So comfort is needed. You don't need a blister to ruin your trip...(No new shoes)

Donna, I would definately bring a nighttime covering. Even when it is warm, if you happen to sunburn, you can get easily chilled as Kelly suggests with the airconditioning and the sea breezes.
I also found a packable hat comes in handy, too.

I found black silk trousers, with a few variations on white silk tank tops indispensable for the evening. I have a purple pareo I purchased at one Vero Beach trip and I used that to add some color and splash in the evenings. It kept off chilly breezes too. Sparkly flat sandals completed the look.
I don't do trunks of luggage and outfit after outfit, so coordinating ensemble type wear works best for me.

hmmmmm...... I may be in trouble here... I don't have a lot of stuff other than work clothes (slacks, long sleeved shirts, blazers, or sweater sets) or shorts/capris for after work and weekends. And I don't really want to go out and buy a bunch of stuff I won't wear again. I have a dress for formal night, and another long one for some other evening.
And to be totally honest, 'Tink, I don't own even ONE pair of sparkly sandals. Sandals? I have a pair of Tevas! I did look at shoes the other day while I was in the mall and most either had those exaggerated pointy toes (ouch!), or were the type that have the little strap thingy that goes between your toes (like flip flops only MORE expensive). I can't wear those things. Toe wedgy... Most of my shoes are flats (although I do have a pair of low heels for formal night).
Yup! I could be in trouble here!
